The Project Surveyor assists Project Managers by leading survey teams and guiding the successful completion of land surveying activities on individual projects. This position is responsible for coordinating field staff in the successful collection of data and construction layout activities; and office staff in processing and analyzing geospatial data, the drafting and development of all types of land surveys, record drawings, plans, and reports.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and manage project schedule.
Prepares standard forms and communicates the project requirements and expectations.
Communicates and coordinates schedules with clients and project team.
Monitors teams work and progress.
Reviews data and documents developed by team for accuracy and precision.
Analyzes geospatial data from various sources, e.g., traditional field survey, point cloud, GPR, digital orthophotography, GIS, etc. to develop and prepare plans and reports
Prepares survey documents and computations associated with ALTA, Boundary, and Topographic Surveys, etc.
Prepares survey drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as directed
Provides construction-related services including: correspondence with clients, construction plan interpretation, point data extraction, stakeout reviews, etc.
Reviews applicable reference materials and location specific statutes and requirements and communicates knowledge with teammates and clients
Reviews and evaluates project documentation, e.g., field notes, title work, surveys, property descriptions, etc.

Education, Licenses and Certifications
Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or equivalent
Registration as a Professional Surveyor or ability to become registered as a Professional Surveyor
Knowledge and Experience
4-8 years of land surveying experience showing progressively increasing responsibility
Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite

Some outdoor work is required in support of field surveying activities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers and various pieces of office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., overtime and weekends as required.
Travel will be required to respective job sites and is primarily local during the business day; however, as a part of performing this positions duties, travel maybe required to respective job sites throughout the United States.
