Overview
We are currently looking for a full time Project Surveyor in our Rice Lake office location. The location of this position, including a remote working option, is flexible based upon experience. This person will complete field and office survey related duties accurately and on time for internal and external clients. We offer project exposure to a variety of DOT, municipal and private projects.

Responsibilities
The work you will do
Gather information for survey, topographical mapping, cross-sections, horizontal and vertical control, location of right of way, and utility locations to be used in preparation of plans and specification
Perform office functions including computations, reduction of field notes, filing and retrieving prints, and running prints
Assist in municipal plan preparation, construction observation, and staking
Gather field data necessary for: boundary retracement, platting land divisions, topographic mapping, establish horizontal and vertical control, right of way location, and utility locations to be used in preparation of survey maps, and engineering plans/specifications.
Construction staking for municipal and private site, street and utility projects.
Bridge and hydraulic surveys of river and stream channels.
Topographic surveys of municipality, state and county highways including drainage and safety features along them (beam guard, culverts, etc.).
Assist with right-of-way and transportation project plats (TPP's).
Perform project management functions including; estimating, scoping, research, scheduling, mentoring staff, quality control, filing and organizing projects.
Perform office functions including: data reduction/computations, digital terrain modeling/surface creation, survey map preparation, quality control, and communication.
Assist in municipal plan preparation and construction observation.
Communicate clearly with: clients, coworkers, peers and public.
Qualifications
What you bring
Skills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:
Associates degree or bachelor's degree as appropriate in surveying or related field preferred
Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Iowa and/or Illinois Professional Land Surveyor license a plus
A valid driver's license is required
6+ years of prior surveying experience required if individual has a degree. Without a degree, 10 years of land surveying experience is WI is required.
Commercial, residential, ALTA/NSPS, local government boundary and topographic survey experience required
Previous experience with municipal infrastructure projects and construction staking preferred
Previous experience with Auto Cad, Civil 3D, or Trimble Business Center Basic is preferred
Prior experience with GIS is preferred
