The Opportunity

The Project Support Technician supports a Project Manager and is responsible for overseeing cost control at customer locations where we are managing remediation projects. You will be responsible for submitting invoices, entering work hours, and cutting purchase orders. You will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager in an operational capacity as well. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Supports Project Manager for our Remediation divisionon small to midsize, technically complex projects involving waste site cleanup and construction, building and equipment decontamination and demolition;

  • Will track and record all costs associated with work being performed;

  • Will assist in the remediation process as required;

  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Environmental Sciences or related disciplines preferred;

  • Ability to track project cost on Excel;

  • Excellent writing and communication skills;

  • Proficient in Windows based activities;

  • Ability to travel up to six weeks at a time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Billing & Invoicing * Prepares client billing accurately and timely. * Ensures billings are in accordance with contract and the appropriate rate schedules are used, if applicable. * Issue and submit invoice and support documentation to the client. * Revenue Recognition/Contract Management * Opens projects in the business management system once documentation is obtained from client (i.e. signed contract or Notice to Proceed (NTP). * Reviews information & associated contract for accuracy. * Activate job for charges. * Ensures projects are set up correctly and revenue is recognized in accordance with the contract. * Saves all proper contractual documentation according to the company's processes. * Maintains proper records of project write offs and contractual matters * Collections * Assists with collections efforts by establishing client accounts payable (A/P) contacts. * Assists with collection calls and follow-up with clients. * Sends monthly statements with invoices. * Responsible for project/contract specific audits and annual audits. EDUCATION AND LICENSURE * Associates degree required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * A minimum of 2 years of accounting and/or invoicing experience required. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Experience with Deltek Vision or comparable Enterprise accounting system highly preferred. * Previous work experience in a professional services organization or related field a plus.
