Purpose of Role:

All Lowe's associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Project Specialist-Exteriors (PSE), this means:

  • Being friendly and professional, and engaging customers in their homes to deliver home improvement project solutions.

  • Ensuring merchandise and projects are accurately quoted, sold, and produced.

  • Preparing and maintaining project folders according to policy.

The Project Specialist-Exteriors executes sales for home exterior projects. The PSE delivers a superior client experience by accurately assessing customer needs and swiftly creating a final quote/proposal. This associate spends most of his/her time in our customer homes or other locations to discuss project plans. The PSE must be comfortable owning the customer relationship and engaging in conversation to understand customer needs, providing product and project consultation, and overcoming challenges to closing sales.


  • Salaried: Generally scheduled for 48 hours; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store.

  • Requires morning, afternoon and evening availability any day of the week.

  • Requires frequent traveling between customer sites.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

  • Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

Must meet at least one of the below requirements:

  • 1 year of experience as a Lowe's Sales Specialist.
  • 2 years of residential construction experience (e.g., home building or renovations) AND 2 years of face-to-face sales experience.
  • 3 years of residential construction experience (e.g., home building or renovations).
  • 3 years of face-to-face sales experience.

Must meet all of the below requirements:

  • If the state or local municipality requires a salesperson license for this position, you must either be licensed or pass the requisite licensing exam within sixty (60) days of starting employment in this position.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

  • Ability to pass MVR screen in accordance with company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure or certification as a Construction Supervisor.
  • 2 years of experience using Lowe's or other similar selling systems (e.g., M2O).
  • 2 years of in-home or commission-based sales experience. #LI-145TPER

They are responsible for implementing planogram design, including product, signage and fixture updates, deploying new interactive displays, and proper installation of products such as TV's and Major Appliances. They're also responsible for merchandising standards throughout the store, including identifying and logging issues for missing or damaged parts and placing Repair and Maintenance orders. In addition, they are responsible for basic (Level 1 and 2) Interactive Display setup, installation and trouble-shooting. This includes managing tickets opened by other retail employees in the Interactive Displays Issues log (IDIL) along with completing the provided troubleshooting steps as provided and escalating appropriately as needed. Key Responsibilities Planograms * Completes assigned tasks on the weekly planogram workload, including planograms and questionnaires. * Accurately reports issues encountered while performing planogram updates, including capturing clear photos of completed work. * Follows-up on reported issues inclusive of ordering parts and providing resolutions. Functionality * Deploys, sustains, and updates interactive displays, products, and security. * Troubleshoots interactive displays, including audio/video distribution systems, network connectivity, device management software, security devices, and other customer facing technology. * Manages tickets through IDIL. * Meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA's) for the timely updating of tickets per the Functionality Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). * Performs troubleshooting steps as documented in IDIL and resolving issues. * Escalates and follow up on issues that cannot be resolved using existing documentation. Promotional Signage * Sets and maintains weekly promotional signage and electronic price tags using provided instructions. Repair and Maintenance (R&M) * Sustains merchandising standards for all planograms in the store. * Manages open issues and parts orders including adhering to a budget for R&M. * Follow up on any planogram work not completed by 3rd party providers and escalate per SOP. * Resolution of known issues after a Transformation or Remodel. Communication and Partnership * Acts as Subject Matter Expert for store leadership regarding in-store merchandising projects and standards, store display functionality and repair or maintenance. * Operates as main point of contact for field and corporate employees regarding planograms and functionality. * Coaches and trains peers on maintaining company directed merchandising standards. Basic Qualifications: * Prior experience in inventory, merchandising, retail or related fields * Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of holidays, nights and weekends * Ability to lift or maneuver 50-100 pounds, with or without accommodations Preferred Qualifications: * 1 year of experience in merchandising * 1 year of experience in technical and/or functionality support * Prior experience reading technical documents such as diagrams or fixture schematics Best Buy Coon Rapids MN
