Reports to the Director, Community Health Enhancement (CHE) or Manager, Community Outreach. Carries out projects from conceptualization through completion while ensuring that deadlines are met. Completes special projects as assigned and provides analytical support for evaluation/resolution of potential prototypes and strategic alliances. This is accomplished through arenas of work, which include, and are not limited to: 1) Establishing and maintain relationships that lead towards collaborative opportunities in alignment with Community Outreach goals. 2) Creating a presence and learning environment conducive to the nuanced nature of how people learn, grow, and engage in change.

Coordinates and/or provides support for various Memorial Hospital / Community Health Enhancement projects and initiatives by:

  • Assuming lead role in some relationship initiatives and projects.

  • Developing print materials and prototypes for various research or program development projects. Initiating concepts, ideas for creative development to support CHE priorities.

  • Gathering input from content experts, marketing, information systems, administration and other stakeholders.

  • Synthesizing available information on CHE projects and their objectives in order to effectively communicate the benefits to target audiences.

  • Gathering input on plan components and refining plan to prepare for prototyping and implementation.

  • Assisting CHE team members in updating web-based and hard-copy information and materials as assigned. Updates will involve communication with content expert or operations staff to gather accurate information, get approvals and prepare for changes to current information, etc.

  • Documenting project labor, providing related documentation, and keeping necessary records on costs of projects, as required.

  • Requisitioning materials and supplies as appropriate.

Providing appropriate systemic controls for assuring cost effective, quality outcomes/results with the CHE division by:

  • Assisting in strategic planning to meet both short- and long-term goals.

  • Reviewing issues and activities that may span organizational and departmental boundaries.

  • Maintaining Memorial Hospital and Health System standards for quality production.

  • Contributes to activities, projects, and conversations of the department to keep goals on time and on task.

  • Leads projects and activities.

  • Organizing and maintaining files of customer, project, and community benefit data as needed to meet department and health system requirements.

  • Creating and/ or maintaining Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents as needed for report outs, project oversight, or delivery.

  • Participating in department wide projects and programs as may be needed or requested.

  • Demonstrating competence and confidence in speaking to the philosophy, model, goals, mission, and innovation intent of Community Health Enhancement.

  • Contributing articles other types of project or grant support as requested.

  • Filling the role of mentor, teacher, or advisor with and for other departments within which community health project is being implemented, including school based intern supervision.

  • Working with copyright law.

  • Executing work with an attentiveness to present and future business opportunity, revenue stream, and replication opportunity, including event securement.

  • Assuring required verbiage is used to meet regulatory requirements for either research protocols or granting of continuing education credits.

Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:

  • Collaborates with partner organizations to help conceptualize and implement various processes and projects related to specific assignments.

  • Ensuring that all projects are effective in promoting Memorial's mission, vision, and values.

  • Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed. Maintaining and supporting policies and procedures consistent with the organization's policies and goals.

  • Providing ongoing accountability for quality assurance of programs coordinated.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:

  • Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.

  • Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.

  • Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.

  • Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.

  • Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.

  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.

  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.

  • Complies with established organization and department policies.

  • Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; or, education and experience appropriate to project design. Requires job related experience and demonstrated project design mastery.
