The Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative (IEI) is a new university-wide initiative that grows out of two popular co-curricular offerings at The New School: New Challenge, launched in 2011, and Parsons E-Lab, launched in 2014. The IEI supports students in developing the entrepreneurial mindsets, skills, and sense of purpose needed to thrive in our rapidly changing world and aims to catalyze the creation of a more inclusive economy by making entrepreneurship education, resources, and networks more accessible to students from diverse backgrounds at different stages of the entrepreneurial journey.

Student Research Assistants will have an opportunity to network widely, both within and beyond The New School, and receive ongoing mentorship. Previous Project Research Assistants have made significant professional contributions in this role.

Responsibilities:
The Project Research Assistant will work closely with the IEI leadership team to help design, publicize, and implement various components of the Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative, including the Graduate Fellowship and Venture Lab. In this role, the Project Research Assistant will assist in developing, promoting, and managing events and play a key role in managing the IEIs digital presence across websites, blogs, social media, and electronic communications. Specific responsibilities will be based on the candidates skills and may include the following:

Program/Event Management:

  • Work collaboratively with the IEI leadership team to:

  • Help design and implement various events throughout the academic year (info sessions, public programs, workshops, pitch events, orientations, etc)

  • Promote and attend IEI events during the academic year

  • Manage the application and selection process for the Venture Lab and/or Graduate Fellowship

  • Help develop and implement the student experience for a cohort-based Graduate Fellowship serving high-potential impact entrepreneurs from underrepresented backgrounds

  • Manage electronic communications with students participating in the Venture Lab and/or Graduate Fellowship

  • Manage room reservations and oversee logistics involving Facilities, IT, and Catering

  • Identify and track courses across The New School focused on impact entrepreneurship

  • Develop digital tools and platforms that help students connect with each other and the broader impact entrepreneurship ecosystem

Marketing and Communications:

  • Support the IEI leadership team with the following:

  • Help manage and update the IEI website (new and existing content)

  • Post announcements, opportunities, and events to the IEI website, blog, and social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter)

  • Develop and produce promotional materials (print and digital), including posters, electronic fliers, presentations, and visual content

  • Manage the IEI listserv (MailChimp) and curate/draft content for monthly E-newsletters

  • Promote the Graduate Fellowship to prospective applicants to The New School via external partners, key influencers, etc (develop and implement webinars, etc)
    Create, update, and maintain Excel databases to support marketing and outreach efforts

  • Help draft communications publicizing various aspects of the IEI to internal audiences

  • Produce/curate content summarizing IEI events and publicizing the work of students/alumni

  • Help draft periodic reports and foundation proposals to funders as necessary

Stakeholder Engagement and Management:
Support the IEI leadership team with the following:

  • Help coordinate, prepare for, and document meetings with internal stakeholders

  • Help manage the recruitment, vetting, and onboarding process of Mentors and Advisors

  • Serve as a liaison among students participating in various programs of the IEI
    Support the IEI leadership team in identifying and strengthening relationships with external constituents (mentors, advisors, investors, funders, etc)

Hours per week: Up to 20 hours during the academic year, with additional hours over school breaks, to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

We support SAP and all related technology including core enterprise, business warehouse and intelligent automation such as machine learning and robotic process automation as well processes including Order to Cash, Source to Pay, Hire to Retire, Payroll and Supply Chain. We are often called upon to support larger, non-SAP programs and portfolios across the enterprise where professional program management and/or Scrum experience are deemed necessary. What's the role? We are seeking an experienced Program Manager/ Scrum Master for our Global Project Services - SAP Solutions Program and Change Management Office (PMO/CMO). Your primary responsibilities will be to serve as Scrum Master/Scrum of Scrums Master to your aligned teams, provide Program Management using Waterfall or Scaled Scrum methodologies to deliver large-scale, strategic programs including but not limited to existing and emerging products, back-office efficiencies, and compliance that require coordination across multiple scrum teams and/or work streams. The role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced candidate to work closely with senior management to develop enterprise solutions.
