ABB is seeking a Project Quality Manager for its Raleigh, NC location. This role is responsible for development, implementation and management of the project quality program throughout all phases of large scale, high complexity, HVDC projects. The ideal candidate will hold a technical degree together with relevant experience to produce, administer and oversee the project quality program throughout the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and construction phases of the project life cycle.

Your responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the project quality plan.

  • Defines quality targets based on critical project success factors.

  • Prepares and reports quality status, quality incidents and root-cause-analysis to Project Management, Business Units and other defined parties.

  • Interfaces with customers to ensure the project quality plan is being fulfilled, and promotes customer satisfaction.

  • Partners with Project Teams and Management to certify all project activities receive adequate quality control monitoring.

  • Ensures that all inspection and documentation activities are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the project requirements.

  • Reports and promotes resolution for all project non-conformances.

  • Supports the planning, initiation and coordination of continuous improvement actions for all phases of the project. Ensures good practice sharing and feedback of experience through continuous improvement workshops and project assessments.

  • Initiates training for employees with regards to knowledge of quality methods and tools, and process awareness.

  • Ensures quality requirements are flowed down to subcontractors and suppliers, and manages the project quality program to ensure they are met effectively, including issuing and resolving non-conformance notices.

  • Plans and conducts project audits, assessments, reviews and participate in status meetings. Ensures implementation of (improvement) measures.

  • Ensures proper communication between the different collaborators, internal and/or external, from engineering, production, construction and corporate groups.

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field and minimum 8 years of direct experience with quality assurance in highly complex EPC projects or a similar environment.

  • Certifications in the quality field are considered a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are required to achieve cooperation as an integral member of the project delivery team.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10% within the US and abroad is required.

RBC Bank is embarking on an exciting journey and we are looking for a Quality Engineering Manager with strong technical and social skills to lead a team of QA engineers who are responsible for the quality assurance and testing of applications for RBC NexGen businesses and services. The incumbent will be directly responsible to manage a team of QA engineers and ensure the delivery of the highest quality experience to our customers. What will you do? * Identifies, understands, executes, controls and audits QA best practices and creates learning solutions in support of business objectives and people performance goals within the Quality Assurance community. * Involved in the collection, analysis and reporting of QA metrics; monitors and audits QA adherence to processes. * Develops and executes a plan that aligns QA COE (Centre of Excellence) direction and industry best practices with the QA team responsible for supporting a specific application development and maintenance area. * Define, implement, and enforce best practices in the areas of automated functional, integration, performance/load/stress and End-To-End testing. * Work closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Project Managers and Scrum Masters to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables based on an agreed upon set of quality requirements. * Participate in the scrums representing the need of quality engineering teams. * Streamlines processes to improve operational efficiencies and to reduce duplicate work effort; creates formulas and templates for estimating and planning test activities; creates and executes strategy for maintaining and promoting automated and manual test methodologies and tools. * Provides leadership and guidance in the application of processes, metrics, artefacts, tools and governance across the QA community; strengthens the QA Community by engaging all verticals including IT Infrastructure; supports all verticals with on-demand assistance with QA process & methodology. * Establishes processes, artefacts and policies for ensuring high standards of quality; defines team's deliverables, content and quality metrics; ensures consistent project artefacts are used by all QA team members; sets direction and vision for the team; defines team's deliverables, content and quality metrics; ensures team has adequate training, consulting and tools to deliver objectives; provides expertise, direction, coaching and development to build the team capability. * Recommends delivery methodologies and frequency while balancing the QA practitioners' needs; maintains QA practices in accordance with audit controls; provides progress status/reports to management and/or PM. * Researches and implements best practices for competency and QA skill development; provides subject matter expertise (SME) to the test team which may include both formal and informal QA and test education; assists in the development of curricula to further the disciplines of Quality Assurance. What do you need to bring? * Bachelor's degree; Software Quality Certification * 5+ years experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties * Process knowledge related to: testing tools, risk assessment and quantification methodologies, and advanced knowledge of quality controls and, testing approaches/ methodologies * Business knowledge related to: business line(s), business applications/ processes * Systems knowledge related to: relevant technologies, and advanced knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, capability maturity models and audit requirements * People management knowledge related to: Talent Management process (recruitment/selection, performance management, performance development/coaching, reward/ recognition) * Expertise in Software Quality Engineering practices, including test automation development leveraging object-oriented frameworks (Selenium/WebDriver, TestNG, Java, Appium) * Deep familiarity with Agile methodology and Scrum process. * Experience with CI/CD and DevOps process.
