First Solar's engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) team is looking for candidates who believe in our mission of providing cost-advantaged solar technology through innovation, customer engagement, industry leadership and operational excellence. Our team strives to design and safely build photovoltaic (PV) power and storage systems that we, and the communities they are located in, can be proud of for decades to come.

The EPC team is looking for individuals that want to be at the forefront of leading change in PV systems including our industry leading accomplishment of continuously reducing the cost of solar power through innovation in both systems design and safe execution. Ideal candidates will constantly challenge and change their own assumptions and ideas and, through collaboration, allow us to continually improve on our reliable designs and safe execution.   • 4 6 years experience, work-related experience in project management or project controls.

  • Proficient in Primavera P6 scheduling software

  • Some experience as lead scheduler or supervisory experience a plus.


  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in engineering, business, or management discipline, preferred.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Analytical and Critical Reasoning SkillsAbility to understand relationships and dependencies between tasks and departments. Ability to apply standard processes and execute work instructions in the development of project plans. Ability to negotiate problems involving -multiple variables in standardized situations. When required, ability to understand organizational needs and conduct detailed cross-functional analysis in support of portfolio-level planning.

  • Technical Skills -- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs including Microsoft Project. When required, ability to understand/interpret concepts, process flows, engineering products, cost estimates, contracts, and purchase orders.

  • Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization.

  • Interpersonal Skills Ability to positively interact with and meaningfully contribute to the understanding of all parts of the EPC organization. Ability to both take and give instructions when the situation dictates.

  • Organizational Skills Ability to organize work and focus on priorities in a dynamic, fast paced, multi-project environment. Ability to avoid distractions and produce high quality products in a timely fashion under limited supervision.

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs including Microsoft Project.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Works with Business Development and Project Development on long range schedules for development of cost estimates, as well as assisting in assembling Bid Packages.

  • Coordinates with Project Controls to ensure spend plans and project plans synergize.

  • Participates in Project Team meetings, as well as an ongoing understanding of each project as they proceed from engineering kickoff to substantial completion. Weekly/daily communication with other project team members (Engineering / Permitting / Supply Chain/ Subcontracts / Construction / Commissioning / O&M ) to fully understand and be able to communicate project status and issues throughout the project life cycle.

  • Coordination with the Metrics team, to ensure all reports are accurate and as up to date as possible.

  • Development and maintenance of Install tables, as well as coordination with the project team on their implementation.

  • Aids in the development of processes to document unique and repeatable activities, as they appear in the development of project and the project schedule.

  • Assigned special projects, as required by upper management.

Reporting Relationships:

Act as a liaison between the manufacturing plants, warehouse, buyers and various Technical Center and Towers departments. Provide verbal and written guidance in achieving management objectives. Perform and direct a wide variety of analytical studies regarding inventories, usage, storage, and distribution of parts. Essential Duties: * Reasonable and predictable attendance is essential. * Research existing inventory status. Generate repair and production orders, purchasing requisitions and inventory transfers and instructions to field entities on locally purchased items. * Schedule delivery dates that coordinate manufacturing and repair objectives. * Maintain inventory controls by using various computer systems and reports. * Issue material requisitions for repair based on reorder points, lead times, minimum order quantities, special programs and campaigns. * Manage equipment number request, assignments, and distribution for new production. * Load equipment numbers, vehicle ID numbers (VINs) and build locations into the fleet Owner licensing system. * Load production schedules and equipment's numbers into the system to allow the assembly plants to electronically report equipment received, built and released. * Recommend and follow up disposition of excess and obsolete inventory. * Add new kits and communicates instructions the warehouse kitting department. * Sign off on and secure necessary parts for publication. * Create and issue open order and back order reports to buyers, manufacturing plants and program managers. * Create weekly reports for financial reporting and managements for new production. * Approve invoices for payment on new production chassis. * Process external orders. * Perform and direct a wide variety of analytical studies regarding inventories, capacities, usage, storage and distribution of parts.
