Model Risk Management group has enterprise-wide oversight responsibility for all aspects of model risk including model governance, model validation and model performance monitoring. This group validates and approves all qualifying models used across different areas of the enterprise such as credit decision scorecards, marketing models, fraud risk models, AML models, loss and revenue forecasts, loss reserve and capital planning. The scope of the team includes model risk ratings, model validation review, model inventory management, model disclosures, model usage tracking and controls, etc.
The Project Manager in Model Risk Management group will focus on the review and management of model risk for credit card scorecard models that have significant impact on the company's account/transactions level strategies.
Responsible for scorecard model validations and risk assessment.
Review and manage the model inventory and the model validation project process and progress.
Query data from multiple sources and platforms (SAS, Teradata, Excel, and others) to find the right information for the problems.
Actively collaborate with model users and business areas to facilitate the implementation of recommendations.
Read model documentation, research modeling methodology and framework, and dig deeply into data.
Ask the right questions to learn about the modeling process and techniques, identify model limitations, and recommend future action.
Validate data and model input and output for accuracy; build benchmark models when necessary, using the best practice approach in the appropriate areas.
Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
Masters or equivalent in economics, statistics, financial analysis, operation research or other quantitative fields.
At least 2 years of experience working in developing, testing, implementing and validating financial models.
Solid understanding and hands on skills in SAS, SQL, R, Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills - both verbally and written - and be able to relate to all level of employees.
Ability to multi task and with flexibility to support dynamic work environment and be able to quickly adapt to new challenges or changing priorities.
Must be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate initiative.
Ability to identify issues and develop resolutions in an efficient manner.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
Be able to read and interpret instructions, policy, procedures, program information, etc.
