Corning's Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ("LCDs") that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Scope of Position:

  • CGT Project Manager position leading multi-functional, multi-disciplined teams to deliver new equipment technologies and process technologies, technical solutions, and potentially new glass compositions.

  • Projects include new process and product development and scale up, capital projects, and continuous improvement projects.

  • Utilize Corning's Innovation Manufacturing Innovation Effectiveness, and Capricorn tools to move projects from stage 2 to stage 4 robust processes.

  • Actively work with internal customers to set requirements of the project

  • Looking for energetic, self-starting, ambitious project manager to lead projects in Corning's Display Technologies Division

  • Set direction to ensure Safety is number one priority on projects

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will establish overall project plans (scope, schedule, cost estimates, project acceptance criteria, risk management etc).

  • Conduct project meetings, setup communications plans, deliver on key requirements for the business needs aligning cost, quality, and timing.

  • Coaching and mentoring team members on the project team

  • Work and lead engineers from the Process and Equipment design organizations while collaborating with business and plant leadership to install component technologies in our WW manufacturing operations as well as potentially growing into a startup leader role for new platform technologies

  • Lead projects to solve technically complex problems in materials, equipment and cost reduction areas for CDT

  • Actively handle budget, schedule, and quality requirements

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • We anticipate 20-25% travel, including international travel

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • We require a Bachelor of Science degree for this role

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 3+ years in Engineering, Manufacturing, Design, or related experience

  • Ability to build effective teams, display integrity, and gain trust among the team.

  • Customer Focused and a drive for results with strong planning skills and a mind for accuracy in the work

  • Ability to facilitate and solve problems with the MEE methodology to gain fundamental understanding and implement effective solutions in a fast paced environment.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Able to work in ambiguity and grasp technical concepts very quickly

  • Engineering and Manufacturing background

  • Multitask and lead multiple projects simultaneously

  • Desire to put structure and processes in place to improve overall Project Management Group through the application of Innovation, MIE, and Capricorn tools.

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Active listener who can communicate big picture to project team regularly to ground them

  • Developing skills of a functional manager even though acting as a project manager

  • Drive a diverse team to reach consensus

  • Communicate effectively up, down and sideways in the organization depending on the situation

Scope of Position: As the Document Control Technician, you will be responsible for file maintenance and enforcement of Division and Plant QMS policies and procedures related to experimental reports, specifications, and documentation. Types process and status reports, assigns and monitors document numbers. Ensures proper documentation assignment and Process document change procedures are followed. Thorough understanding of the general aspects and technical phases of the job. Understands practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. No instructions needed on routine work. Seeks supervisory direction for issues related to role or crossing into other functional area or with broad impacts. General instructions and/or independent leeway given on new lines of work or special assignments. Supports DARM site facilitator in leading audit and training programs including annual corporate DARM audits and preparation. Schedules own work to meet completion dates. Assigns appropriate classification and information security to documentation and may take action to ensure compliance as well as supports all levels of organization on compliance procedures. Recommends changes in methods or procedures. Errors difficult to detect and normally results in moderate expenditures to resolve. Contributions influence major work streams. External contacts involve obtaining or providing information on matters of moderate importance to the organization and may be of a sensitive nature. Provide analysis and metric updates on a b monthly basis or as needed and responsible for providing Cost of Quality data for reporting on key quality metrics. Day to Day Responsibilities: * Manages document control and change processes to IATF-16949/ISO 9001:2015 * Lead subject matter expert for Department of Archives and Records Management Program * Processes new and revised documentation using the Process document change process * Prepares and communicates daily Process document change reports * Supports administration of other QMS programs such as Management of Change, CAPA, etc, as needed * Organize and communicate documentation compliance to upper management * Maintain accurate records * Support development and presentation for annual DARM training modules * Conduct DARM, QMS, and IATF training to new hires (NEO) * Administrative support for Customer audits * Responsible for the uploading and maintenance of the plant documentation on Plant sharedrive and/or ETQ site * Maintain access to plant change system of SharePoint site * Support and improve document approval process and document change process * Monitor and communicate documentation audits, experiment due dates and sharedrive and distribution lists audit timing * Audits appropriate related documentation (including but not limited to sustainment audits) * Communicates deadlines to organization regarding documentation and sharedrive audits, and experiment due dates. * Develop and communicate schedules and manage timelines for assigned tasks Travel Requirements: You can expect travel less than 5% of the time. Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Your typical work schedule will be 8-5pm M-F although you should expect to have flexibility for off shift and weekend coverage is expected to support project assignments including overtime.
