In this role you will work in Bonneville Power Administration (BPA)'s Energy Efficiency Distributed Energy Resources organization (PES). This position will provide project management support to the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Program Manager on the DER team. The primary focus will be to provide project management consistent with the Project Management Institute standard on DER projects. In addition to project management assignments, this position will provide business recommendations/guidance for Program support, integration, communications, and project scheduling. Business recommendations/guidance will be provided in coordination with the Program Manager or other designated official(s), in collaboration with other program participants. The primary benefits will result in improved project management; an increase in the number of Cross Agency, Technology, Proof of Concept, and Demonstration Projects sponsored by BPA, improved visibility of DER major initiatives, improved communication of the organization's activities, achievements and goals, as well as improved accountability at the initiative and organization levels.

The PES organization provides expert subject matter support to advance distributed energy resource solutions to meet BPA Power and Transmission and regional objectives.

Mandatory Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Communications, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline is required.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated project management experience.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience working in the Utility industry

  • Proficiency in SharePoint, MS Project, and Visio.

Desired Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

  • 5+ years of demand response or distributed energy resource project management experience.

  • 10+ years of utilizing PMI Project Management Best Practices.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Experience structuring and leading high profile projects with long term goals.

  • Experience working in the energy utility industry, carrying out project management responsibilities and managing stakeholder expectations.

Work with project managers to develop schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Communicate effectively, with well developed presentation skills, to influence and guide all levels in organization and with partners. Through data, operations and process analysis identify opportunities for scalability and improvements throughout the division as well as other areas of the organization with touch-points to the Services division. Analyze dashboards, scorecards and capacity planning models to identify opportunities to innovate operations to drive increased performance. Relationship Management, Communication Management Create and cultivate close working relationships with the client and key stakeholders throughout the implementation.
