Position

Tetra Tech is seeking experienced project managers with backgrounds in environmental cleanups of contaminated soils, groundwater, and surface water for work based in the southeastern U.S. Primary location is Jacksonville, FL but could also be located at one of our southeastern U.S. offices including Cocoa, FL, Atlanta GA, Pensacola, FL/Mobile, AL area, Tampa, FL, Tallahassee FL, or various locations in Texas.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform and manage projects at both federal DOD sites and at EPA lead Superfund sites is preferred. Participate in functions involving contact with client representative.

    Work/coordinate with project team personnel. Perform technical functions on projects and direct the technical efforts of more junior project team members on environmental, engineering and construction related projects.

  • Management and preparation and review of related documents.

  • Prepare proposals, subcontracts, work plans, engineering designs and reports.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of junior level staff on projects as appropriate. Provide technical direction and guidance to CADD operators, designers, technicians and field personnel.

  • Potential to participate in technical and sales presentations to clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Civil/Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Sciences; a minimum of 10 years of related experience. Professional certification and current registration in southeastern states is preferred.

Experience with EPA based CERCLA/RCRA and State based cleanup programs is preferred. The position requires experience in managing client relationships, proposal preparation, oral presentations, project management, and over-sight of staff performing work on environmental and/or engineering projects.

Working knowledge of cost estimating practices and procedures. Knowledge of spreadsheet software required; knowledge of related computer-based design software desirable. Must be comfortable and effective in oral communications and business development and or client related presentations.

Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal.

Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public. Effective communication skills, both orally and in written form.

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training is also preferred. OSHA 30-hour Construction certification, CPR First Aid training are also preferred. Other registrations although not required would be beneficial.
