The opportunity
As a result of our continuing success, we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth in all business sectors; We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to join our Engineering team to support projects across the South Wales region.
The successful candidate will plan, execute, and finalise construction and engineering projects within strict deadlines and budget. Acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. Define the project's objectives and oversee quality control through its life cycle.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Partnerships Director (North & Scotland), you will be required to:
Manage all aspects of the contract(s) with the aid of Project Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Planning Manager
Work closely with the client to further develop and promote the company, engage with potential clients to build relationships, and work as a key member of the bid team.
Develop, amend, report on and follow project schedules.
Attend pre-contract meetings in conjunction with senior commercial staff
Attend site meetings and produce contract status reports. Provide regular reporting and documentation such as issues logs, risk registers, technical submittals and meeting minutes.
Secure labour and sub-contractors for the project. Allocate resources to the project and ensure resource management plans are developed and followed.
Supervise, train, plan, organise, schedule, assign, review and evaluate the work of staff
Review systems and methods when required to improve contract performance
Produce health and safety plans with overall responsibility for site health and safety, ensuring that all statutory obligations relating to health, safety and environment are met and where possible exceeded. This includes all obligations required for the delivery of projects under CDM.
Promote and comply with the Company's policies on equality and health and safety both in the delivery of service and the treatment of others.
Engage with your manager in reviewing your performance and planning your development.
Carry out other duties consistent with the nature, responsibilities and seniority of your post.
What you will need
Qualifications
Demonstrable project management experience from within the building services industry is essential
Educated to HND/Degree level in either a Mechanical, Electrical or Construction discipline
Proven and extensive people management experience
Strong familiarity with project management software
SMSTS
CSCS/Skillcard - Black Manager Card
Excellent working knowledge of all MS Office applications
