Position Summary: As a project manager with VGM IT, your primary purpose is to manage the complete life-cycle of Information Technology projects. You will design, plan, program, test, and implement solutions for single or multiple projects across all VGM divisions. In collaboration with other business units, the Project Manager will ensure timely and accurate delivery of strategic solutions. With any IT project, we anticipate dynamic change management may need to occur to keep a project on track and deliver business value. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert keeping teams on task to ensure satisfactory results.
Reporting Accountability: Director of Technology Solutions Delivery
Working Location: Open to on-site or hybrid - Waterloo, Iowa
Work Hours Classification: Monday-Friday, 8-5pm+ Central Standard Time
Responsibilities/Duties of the Position
Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects across all VGM divisions
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and assign scope of authority and duties to appropriate project personnel (whom you will also identify across all VGM divisions)
Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle
Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans
Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required
Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation
Continuously benchmark project management performance to identify improvements and provide thought leadership to achieve higher capability maturity in PPM
Other duties that would require project management expertise as required and assigned - keeping projects on track is important, that's why we need to hire you
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems or related field
Three or more years of IT experience with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving
A minimum of two years of demonstrated competency in a junior or assistant project management role involving the execution of multiple projects or a large project
PMP Certification preferred
PMI Certification preferred
Skills and competencies:
Familiarity with project management methodologies (for example, PMI, SCRUM, and Agile)
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in business, IT and financial; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
Three or more years of experience in a role that supports the technical needs and goals of multiple business units, departments or divisions within an organization
Effective influencing and negotiating skills
Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a project resource plan that ensures that the right people are in the right place doing the right things at the right time
Physical Requirements:
Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
Moving throughout the VGM facilities when needed.
Compensation Overview:
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
