Position Summary
Established in 1964, the UCLA Labor Center advances cutting-edge research, education, and service guided by our core values: economic equity, racial and immigrant justice, and worker power and solidarity. Under the direct supervision of the Global Solidarity Project Director, the Program Manager will engage with labor unions, academic institutions and worker advocacy organizations to organize meetings, seminars and conferences as well as exchanges among partner organizations in Mexico, Canada and the United States.
The Program Manager will assist on research projects and will write research memos as needed, will have weekly check-ins with the Project Director and will write activity reports on a monthly basis. Finally, the Program manager will provide oversight and coordination of a participatory oriented, capacity building research program to support Mexican-based labor, academic and advocacy partner organizations to develop Academic/Labor collaboration initiatives with the UCLA Labor Center.

Qualifications
Academic Research Projects Tracking project activities and see activities through completion. Strong research and writing skills. (Required) Proven systematic organizational skills to a) work independently with minimal supervision, determine workload priorities and tasks to complete work in a timely manner, and c) identify and resolve problems. (Required) Interpersonal skills to interact sensitively and to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, students, community members, workers, and outside organization officials and staff from diverse social, cultural, and educational background. (Required) Knowledge of and experience with cross-border labor issues. (Required) Knowledge of and experience with global labor solidarity issues. (Required) Fluent bilingual English/Spanish skills, including oral interpretation and written translation. (Required) Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. (Required) Technologically savvy, ability to learn new programs and applications such as Canva and Adobe. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (Required) Master's Degree In Social Sciences and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Preferred)
