The Senior Project Manager is highly-organized and able to rally the team in achieving milestones to deliver products and enhancements in an on-time fashion. He/she coordinates with cross-functional stakeholders and teams to give updates on progress as well as hear/respond to feedback.

The Day-to-Day

Responsibilities:

  • Performs non-technical project completion using an internal customer perspective; typically from initiation through delivery.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams through meetings and progress measurement activity which bring distinct, specific projects to completion both on time and within budget.

  • As a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, he/she resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

VIEW JOBS 1/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-16T00:00 Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance - McKesson 2021, the Project Manager, will be part of a project team responsible for successfully leading strategic initiatives in support of the McKesson 2021 Spend Smart program to achieve operating model effectiveness. The position will focus primarily on supporting Spend Smart policies, completing data analysis and making recommendations, and leading cross-business unit projects focused on consolidating spend under management and improving spend decisions. The position will contribute to achieving significant financial and operational targets. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate an analytical problem-solving skill set, project management best practices, time management, flexibility and adaptability, and excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Key Responsibilities Project delivery * Lead project work streams across various stages of the project lifecycle * Effectively work in cross-functional, diverse team environments, including members of business/functional staff and external vendors * Meet task timelines to support realization of project benefits * Deliver creative and innovative solutions Support * Support adoption and change management efforts by answering employee questions on policies * Communicate effectively to and influence stakeholders of all levels * Develop and maintain productive relationships through individual contacts and group meetings * Act as an ambassador and change agent with project stakeholders Business analysis / process improvement * Identify business problems, structure a problem-solving approach and gather data to assess improvement opportunities * Analyze quantitative and qualitative data * Synthesize analysis results (e.g., current state analysis) and design data supported improvement recommendations Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): * 5+ years experience, optimally in project management or process improvement Education * Bachelor's degree preferably in a business or technical discipline Critical Skills * Project Management. Management consulting experience or proven track record of leading successful large-scale business transformation or process improvement projects * Builds Relationships. Demonstrated ability to develop excellent relationships and influence key stakeholders to support the delivery of critical initiatives * Facilitation & Communication Skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels and facilitate effectively to help achieve established objectives * Strong Business/Financial Acumen. The ability to quickly understand and analyze business strategy and landscape using data analysis and financial statements * Complex Problem Solving. Demonstrated ability to understand complex business problems, conduct analysis, and identify well-reasoned solutions * Results Oriented. "Self-starter" attitude with the ability to excel in dynamic work environment and quickly become the "expert" in new topics and disciplines * PC Skills: Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint and basic proficiency in other Microsoft office products including Word, Project, and Visio Additional Skills * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly desirable * Lean and/or Six Sigma training and certification highly desirable * Demonstrated ability to manage indirect teams, including members who may be senior in rank * Experience in a health care services (distribution, technology, or services) environment preferred Working Conditions: * Normal office environment that is well lit and well ventilated * Travel required: Approximately 10% or less Physical Requirements * Typical office work No agencies please.
