Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

The Project Manager controls planning and execution of the Projects activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met. The Project Manager works with moderate supervision and is responsible for applying Project Management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to Project deliverables, processes, and systems in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. The Project Manager operates within defined parameters using a proven Project Management Methodology with flexibility to merge different methodologies in accomplishing collective goals. Manages team development, actively mentors members of the PM community.

  • Small Program/Project delivery/management skills

  • Manages and promotes strong working teams

  • Development of mid-level roadmaps/plans and/or detail execution plans, where needed, to aid and drive business readiness activities, or facilitate risks across business and IT work streams.

  • Strong facilitation skills

  • Experience and skill in managing across functional and organizational lines

  • Problem solving and analytical aptitude or skills

  • Presentation experience - the ability to draft and present information to diverse groups and stakeholders.

  • Some IT knowledge and/or experience preferred, allowing candidate to effectively provide transparency into capabilities/solutioning being developed and articulate that back to business stakeholders where /when needed

  • Strong communication skills Written and Oral

  • Strong skills in PowerPoint/Excel/Word

  • Maintains a positive, achievement-oriented attitude

  • Demonstrates initiative and innovation in achieving results

  • Works with customers to proactively to develop solutions eventually developing the ability to anticipate ongoing needs

  • Uses resources effectively - is well organized and sets priorities to meet critical business needs

  • Continuous improvement mindset with an openness to proactively seek & solicit feedback

Job Summary

This position is the primary point of accountability to Business partners and other parties for the management and implementation of small to medium sized Projects and/or small Programs that support achievement of simple to moderately complex unit or corporate goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred experience with :

  • SAFe/Agile methodologies

  • Rally

  • SharePoint (general use of or development in)

  • Insurance Industry and Travelers specific acumen preferred

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. 5 years of project management experience preferred. Experience managing others and/or project teams preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. 2 years of project management experience required.

In order to be considered you must have previous experience managing the Tower site acquisition process based in the Hartford, CT area area.<br /> <br /> The Site Acquisition Manager is responsible for site selection, leasing and zoning activities for the wireless sites assigned. The Site Acquisition Manager should be comfortable driving vendors and subcontractors to deliver on very tight deadlines with minimal supervision. We are looking for “Go Getter” types only that are also comfortable self-performing some of the work.<br /> <br /> You should be familiar with all aspects of Wireless deployments from a Site Acquisition perspective including New Site Builds & Modifications from Landlord through to the local and Regional jurisdictions process. Previous wireless experience is a MUST for this role.<br /> <br /> You'll also manage the Site Acquisition Specialist during the coordination process with tower owners/and or private landlords to negotiate and secure lease entitlements as defined by project scope.
