Project Manager job Colorado Springs, Colorado is currently available with one of Belcans top aerospace clients. In this role, you will be responsible for driving execution (schedule, quality, and cost) of assigned projects.

With direction of the Program Manager, you will plan and execute engineering design and manufacturing projects for defense, defense related and aerospace products. Projects may be separately funded and usually have different customers and varied requirements. Projects include elements of design, analysis, materials and process development, test and evaluation of engineered material and components.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan, develop, implement, and coordinate project(s).

Oversee team of individuals and suppliers to meet customer quality, performance and schedule requirements within finite budget constraints.

Coordinate with Program Managers and Operations Manager to manage projects effectively.

Create, maintaining and monitoring projects using integrated master schedules

Establish project baselines and measure performance.

Assure planning is efficiently released to shop through regular interaction with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations staff.

Monitor and evaluate program/project effectiveness; effect changes required for improvement.

Work closely with the engineering technical leads and cross-functional teams to ensure schedule commitments are met.

Call / direct meetings with regard to schedules and investigations

Facilitate LAT failure investigations (lead from a project perspective, not technical)

Drive the closure of IPT action item registers

Flow down all updates/communications from Customers and Program Managers

Participate in sales order kick off meetings (SOKOs) as the official handoff of ownership from the Program Managers to the Project Manager / IPT

Track pre-production actions to ensure production on-time to start metrics are met

Maintain schedules of active projects within the IPT

Request detailed status updates from Delivery Assurance Managers on active projects

Gather input from Program Managers to help set job priorities / resolve resource conflicts

Assist the Program Managers with status updates / slide preparation for customer meetings and program reviews

Ensure production and post-production processes are executed in accordance with customer / contractual needs (as conveyed in the SOKO meeting and SOKO document).

Ensure delivery of Customer Furnished Material (CFM) to on-time production starts

Request Customer input via Program Managers when required:

oDocument approval

oContract modifications

oDelivery of CFM

oWaiver requests

oB-1 hold resolution

Use developed SAP exception management reporting to for:

oTracking production and post production orders through value stream

oMismatch reporting between estimated ship dates and customer requirements

oEarly production start notification for material received in advance of lead time

Investigate overdue accounts receivable payments and report to program managers weekly.

Submit Ship in Place reports to Finance before end of each month in accordance with standard work

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors of Engineering.

Working knowledge of FARS, DFARS, MIL-STD, AS9100, ISO9001, and D0-160, D0-178, and/or D0-254 contracting regulations.

At least 3 years of project management experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with material/product experience in a design and production environment.

Experience in new product development and production.

Knowledge of cost & schedule control, planning, and earned value management.

Successfully manage program requirements within schedule and budget.

Collaborate with a variety of functional areas inside and outside the organization to deliver program results responsive to internal and external customer requirements.

Ability to gather and analyze data, compile information, and prepare reports.

Program planning and implementation skills.

United States Citizenship required for this position due to ITAR requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Design experience

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

MS Project experience.
