The Project Manager manages IT projects ranging from third party developments, solution assessments, application upgrades and implementation of new systems or services by applying Amerant's established standards, procedures and applicable regulations, for the purpose of achieving the organization's goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of assigned Projects throughout the entire project life cycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closing) while balancing the project constraints of scope, time and budget to ensure the quality completion of the project objectives and goals.

  • Define, communicate with, and oversee the project team and its dynamic including role identification and responsibilities using conflict resolution and negotiation techniques to reach mutual agreements that ensure adherence to the project schedule and project deliverables.

  • Set expectations regarding the project scope and objectives and ensure common understanding as well as each project resources' function to effectively coordinate their activities.

  • Manage, control and validate the costs and deliverables provided by our contracted IT vendors and systems development suppliers. Ensure adequate vendor performance by taking into consideration the SLAs and terms and conditions of the engagement held.

  • Lead vendor selection using tools such as Request For Information (RFI) and Request for Proposals (RFPs), proper due diligence and demos in order to determine the most favorable solution.

  • Identify and report to immediate supervisor any current or prospective risks and/or violations of, or nonconformance with laws, rules, regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.

  • Communicate, facilitate and negotiate the resolution of issues including possible risks and corrective actions related to assigned projects with the respective teams and/or stakeholders.

  • Influence the factors that could circumvent integrated change control so that only approved changes are implemented.

  • Communicate and report on a consistent and timely basis the progress of the project, with quality and detail, from the beginning to end of the project.

  • Oversee estimations for projects channeled by the Project Advisory Group.

Work Experience:

3+ years of experience managing projects using formal project management disciplines and methodologies

Education and/or Certifications:

Associates Degree in Management Information Systems or Business Administration required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

Project Management Professional Certification Preferred.

Technical and Other Essential Knowledge:

Responsible for managing small to medium extended projects, including the scope, requirements, management of resources, testing and coordination into production.

Ability to influence peers, stakeholders and team members.

Demonstrate high ethics and values in the management of assigned projects.

Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations.

Proficient using the Microsoft Office Product Suite including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook.

Functional Skills and Knowledge:

Must be a team player, be able to work under pressure and conduct business in a professional manner. Must be able to prioritize, solve problems with minimum supervision and manage time and change. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate a passion for serving customers and exhibit Amerant Precepts in all interactions.
