Project Manager
Description of Work: The Project Manager shall have the ability to provide guidance and direction for multiple projects in implementing business process development, business reengineering, and strategic business projects. The Project Manager shall have the capability to manage projects of high complexity and to direct the completion of projects within estimated time frames and resource constraints. The Project Manager shall coordinate all parties to tasks and review work products for completeness, quality, and adherence to customer requirements.
Educational Requirements: The Project Manager shall have a Bachelors degree.
Certification Requirements: The Project Manager should have a Project Management
Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). The Project Manager should have at a minimum successfully completed ITIL Foundations training.
Experience Requirements: In addition to the educational and certification requirements, the
Project Manager shall have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing projects, with a focus on business process, re-engineering, or IT projects.

VIEW JOBS 11/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-10T00:00 The incumbent will be responsible for project planning, project management to include design and construction of maintenance reserve and other minor projects, facility condition assessments, monitoring and other general engineering services. Reports to work as directed during emergency closings. Minimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge of operations and maintenance of institutional facilities including building and utility systems. Considerable understanding of design criteria and building codes. Considerable knowledge of facility design and design process, cost estimating, building codes, construction documents, construction materials and methods. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and MS Project. Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of multiple design and construction projects. Well-developed capacity for analysis and evaluation of complex design, construction and code issues. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate graphically and verbally with designers, engineers, contractors and shop mechanics and electricians. Demonstrated ability to manage numerous construction projects. Demonstrated ability to work well with others and project a professional image at all times. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in engineering, construction management or a related discipline or Professional Engineer certification. Some experience in managing in complex design and construction projects. Some experience working in scheduling software such as Primavera, Suretrack or MS Project. Some experience working in web-based project management software such as eBuilder, PCS or CoConstruct. Completion of a 40 Hour OSHA Training Course. Some experience interacting with code officials in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Working proficiency in a range of Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint and Project. Professional registration, Certified Energy Manager and/or Project Management Professional (PMP). Special Requirements Facilities Management employees are considered essential personnel and subject to working during University closings. This position is designated as sensitive.
