Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We place a strategic emphasis on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular access, bone access, specialty biologic treatments and cardiac assist. Position Summary

This position is responsible for the project management of new product development and other initiatives. The PM is accountable for project planning and execution. They will guide core teams through project execution process in order to meet strategic objectives. The PM ensures consistent and compliant practices throughout all phases of the project life cycle and across functional teams. The PM will use influence, leadership and professional project management concepts and frameworks in accordance with company objectives and tools to inspire teams to create compelling new products.

Principal Responsibilities

Responsible for planning and managing global product development initiatives for the Interventional business unit.

  • Effectively lead and drive project teams in a collaborative environment, completing project deliverables per committed timelines and scope.

  • Monitor project budgets, directing the efficient use of resources to effectively complete projects.

  • Lead project-related activities of project team members, providing guidance on conformance to established design control procedures.

  • Lead, coordinate and facilitate weekly meetings, action items, and follow-up with subject matter experts on expected deliverables

  • Prepare project summary reports, develop project plans, identifies risk and communicates mitigation activities.

  • Prepare and deliver project status presentations to Management regularly

  • Partner with Marketing in business gating process for projects under their responsibility

  • Lead and/or participate in all phases of development starting with concept through post market surveillance

  • Negotiate and resolve conflicts and drive decisions among team / functional members to accomplish project and business goals.

  • Define project resource requirements and negotiate with functional managers to obtain resources necessary to support assigned programs.

  • Cultivate a high performing work team culture among project core teams.

  • Adhere to all regulatory agency standards, company quality standards and corporate policies.

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as business needs demand.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • BS in technical discipline (i.e. engineering, bio-science), advanced degree preferred

  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in project management or project engineering working in a technical discipline, medical device and/or engineering preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years project experience in the medical device and/or FDA regulated industry

  • PMP certification is desirable

  • Proficiency with design control standards is required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Project, Powerpoint

  • Effective customer relations, presentation, problem solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong influence management skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively at all levels in a matrix organization to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish project goals

  • Technical aptitude and displayed ability to grasp general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies

  • Self-starter with strong proactive work ethic, well-organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to support multiple projects and balance priorities, work independently or collaboratively to determine and develop solutions

  • Ability to produce and present clear, concise written communications and presentations

  • Proven ability to influence across functions, drive collaboration and lead change

As the Senior R&D Project Manager, New Product Introduction (NPI) this role is responsible for leading the execution of cross-functional NPI projects. This role requires significant project management and leadership skills, demonstrated by the ability to influence and lead within a rapidly evolving, cross-functional, highly regulated environment. This role also requires strong cross-functional business acumen, including technical, marketing, manufacturing, finance, quality, clinical, and regulatory based knowledge. The Senior R&D Project Manager will ultimately be responsible for their team's performance and their adherence to company procedures, applicable regulations and standards, and achieving the agreed upon project charter with senior leadership. The Senior R&D Project Manager will lead project planning activities (supported by Functional Managers and critical team members), track progress (scope, budgets, timelines, resourcing) and aggressively exploit opportunities and mitigate risks. Routine communication of progress with Leadership will be required. The Senior R&D Project Manager may occasionally be involved at various levels with strategic issues at a department level and / or corporate level, though their primary focus will be at the team level. The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization is required. You are responsible for * Managing project(s) for medium to large project teams which require significant cross-functional involvement. * Serves as expert to the project team on overall New Product Introduction (NPI) Process (including Design Controls) * Leading external resources in the execution of an NPI project (i.e. managing critical external relationships for testing, development, attaining components / subassemblies, etc) * Developing and managing project plans, including scheduling, resourcing, budgeting, and communication, to Product Development Leadership and Senior Leadership. * Actively evaluating project for opportunities to improve performance; continuously monitors risk and mitigates as appropriate * Providing daily direction and guidance to team members in the execution of the project * Ensures team members adhere to internal procedures and regulatory requirements * Escalating cross-functional support issues on projects to affected Manager or to Product Development Leadership * Overseeing and is ultimately accountable for team's compliance with approved Project Charters and Project Development Plans * Applies LEAN practices within project team * Ensuring team members adhere to internal procedures and regulatory requirements * Providing guidance and coaching/mentoring to team members as appropriate * Building key relationships with customers relating to the project(s) You are a part of Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices Research & Development organization, where we enable healthcare providers to decide, guide, treat and confirm in one setting, thereby optimizing care, reducing costs and getting patients back to living the lives they love.
