Job Description


  • Partners with the Manager, Business Analytics with in DSRE Strategy and Operations to lead and drive department-related projects projects, establishing best practices on operational program management initiatives, help drive efficiencies, organizational and process improvements.

  • Leads project planning and execution on a range of projects across DSRE and ensures appropriate communication and interfacing with internal governance.

  • Schedules, organizes and coordinates Project Management team meetings and communicates in a clear, professional and articulate manner.

  • Schedules Leadership Team meetings, manages invitations, tracks responses, presentation materials. Prepares agendas and follow-up on meeting action items.


  • Initiates Projects based on department needs; assembles project team, identifies stakeholders, builds project-related milestones and timelines.

  • Leads the planning and implementation of assigned projects and ensures they stay on track and are implemented / closed on time by resolving conflicts and removing obstacles or through the proper use of escalation.

  • Produces status reports and communications defining project progress, risks / problems and solutions. Has an unrelenting attention and focus to detail, ensures accuracy with project-related communications, agendas, and meeting minutes to be delivered in a timely manner.

  • Provides support for DSRE Leadership Team by scheduling and running team meetings.

  • Proven ability to analyze and organize information logically.

  • Proficient with a variety of Project Management software applications to effectively perform functions of this role.

  • Schedules, organizes and coordinates meetings for supported projects, including presentation materials, budgets, and technological needs.

  • Demonstrates ability to be nimble, maintain a positive outlook, and remain composed under pressure.

  • Proven organizational / time management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Experience with troubleshooting / problem solving and risk assessment / mitigation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum 2 years project management proficiency with solid process orientation, and comfort with multiple projects and ability to prioritize between deliverables in a multi-disciplinary, global environment.

  • Collaborative nature with a team-oriented mentality.

  • Self-motivated and self-directing to deliver core role responsibilities.

  • Motivated to learn and expand skill-set beyond the scope of the role.

  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence outcomes and key project decisions.

  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and operate in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills are required. Must be a team player prepared to work in and promote a team-based culture.

  • Strong PC literacy with advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint

VIEW JOBS 3/25/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-23T00:00 The Project Manager is in charge of the Project Management Team and developing accurate, timely and detailed cost estimates on complex geotechnical projects. The Project Manager is responsible to bid, plan and oversee the project to ensure a timely and cost effective outcome. This includes supporting delivery of properly organized estimates, budgets and schedules, including managing Skanska's risk and budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the project. He/she will oversee a smooth transition from the estimate/pre-construction phase to construction, including design management, if applicable, in order to protect the bid position. The Project Manager will be a self-starter and work efficiently. He/she must be able to meet critical deadlines and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. He/she is responsible for ensuring the project/area is constructed in a safe, ethical manner, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. What You'll Do: * Responsible for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to company safety policies and programs through the communication and enforcement of the Skanska Safety and Health Management Program, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation; * Maintain strong relationships with clients, designers and consultants; * Interpret and analyze project drawings and technical specifications, proposals and other documentation and prepare cost estimates using HCSS estimating software and prepare bid proposals; * Perform accurate quantity take-offs; * Consolidate and ask questions/ RFI's during bid stage; * Consolidate all estimates into complete estimate summary for review and Participate in bid review meeting; * Hiring of subcontractors/vendors including negotiations, sub agreements, material agreements and PO's; * Engage, hire, manage third party resources (engineering, subject matter experts, consultants, etc.); * Management of subcontractors and vendors schedule, performance, and payments; * Ensure compliance with project and Skanska's DBE compliance program; * Chair project meetings, including project team, owner and subcontractors meetings; * Complete understanding of the contract including Skanska's contractual obligations and the owners obligations; * Identify Project Risk and develop Mitigation Plans; * Ensure timely notices as required to the owner to protect Skanska interests regarding extra work, design changes, delays, impacts, etc.; * Manage project claims in collaboration with Skanska's Legal Department; * Project submittals, process RFIs & shop drawings, as required by the Owner; * Manage and coordinate onsite staff; * Manage the project budget utilizing Skanska's Cost Control Systems; * Compile reports regarding financial, schedule and production reports for the Project Executive; * Prepare and coordinate payments from owner and ensure timely payments; * Develop and maintain the project schedule in sync with the project budget; * Develop and maintain site logistics plan with Superintendent staff; * Ensure the project delivers a quality product meeting Skanska's high quality standards; * The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. We're Looking For: * Thorough understanding of geotechnical construction and contracts; * Working knowledge of Estimating/Engineering software: HCSS Heavy Bid, AutoCAD, On Screen Takeoff or similar; * Exhibits strong leadership qualities; * Excellent time management and organizational skills; * Strong understanding of financial operations and corporate cost control; * Computer proficient and the ability to adapt to new innovations and processes; * Strong written, communication, and problem solving skills; * Strong math/accounting and estimating skills; * Exceptional understanding of construction industry; * Bachelor of Science in Construction or Engineering preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of; * Minimum five (5) years' experience in management of construction projects and conducting project estimates Work Environment/Job Conditions This job is performed both in the office and in the field. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment, systems and conditions is required. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching.
