Kimley-Horn is seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer with a focus in Structural Engineering for our Bay Area office in Pleasanton, CA. Experience in building structure design and analysis with working knowledge of steel, concrete, wood and masonry design is desired.

Our focus on client service makes good communication and customer service skills a must. Preferred experience with structural analyses, design, and drafting work for preparation of structural design plans for a wide range of clients and structures. Work will also include structural evaluations, restorations, retrofits, and site observations for temporary structures. Candidates should have strong analytical, detailing, communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers and clients. Position will require limited travel for field work and project site visits. We are seeking engineers that are able to jump into a project and start working immediately!

  • Civil Engineering degree with emphasis on structural engineering from an ABET accredited university,

  • At least 8 years of experience with relevant structural design.

  • Must possess a Professional Engineer License

  • Industry experience using Revit Structures, AutoCAD, and Sketchup.

  • Experience with a variety of analysis and design programs preferred: TEDDS, ETABS, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, and Mathcad.

  • Working knowledge of California Building Code ASCE7 and referenced building material codes.

The PM will manage everything from estimating and bidding through commissioning and field testing including contract and change order negotiations, subcontractor management, scheduling, staging and production, project staffing and budgeting, field commissioning and testing and final acceptance.
