The mission of the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR) is transforming lives, influencing change, strengthening community. To accomplish this mission, the ND DOCR utilizes more than 100 different job classifications or type of work. Our employees provide many different services to a diverse correctional population of juveniles, and adults, such as therapeutic rehabilitation, medical care, physical plant services, education, information technology, and a variety of correctional security and law enforcement jobs responsible for security and management of individuals in custody of the DOCR.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the DOCR team and make a difference in our communities! We are looking for a Project Manager to provide oversite for the planning and implementation of a consolidated Client Management System (CMS). The CMS will serve as the DOCR's system of record and bring facility and community supervision in alignment through a single system. The CMS is anticipated to be implemented as a high dollar IT program, covering multiple biennials.

This is a full-time, permanent position with total compensation including the full state employee benefits package, which includes family health insurance with no monthly premium cost to you, as well as a generous retirement, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave that begins to accrue on day one, and more. The starting salary range for this position is $5,500-$6,600/month.

Summary of Work

This position will report to the Chief Administration Officer located at Central Office. The position will apply project management principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices to lead and manage all phases of information technology projects and other types of agency projects.

The position is responsible for performing project management duties on medium to large projects using established best practices, tools and guidelines. Projects will cross multiple business units, which have stakeholders with diverse and conflicting needs. Projects will include new, multiple or emerging technologies that will impact the agency.

Complex reporting relationships and communication requirements exist at the agency level, enterprise and legislative levels. Project Budgets range from $100,000 to over $1,000,000.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or related field.

Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and at least 2 years of project management experience. It is preferred that the successful candidate have experience managing IT projects or large projects over a million dollars and experience using change management principals.
