L3 Space & Sensors Technology Center in Mason, OH (Northern Cincinnati) is currently hiring a motivated and energetic Project Manager to contribute to the success of the CE Space Avionics Division. This position is responsible for successfully managing all aspects of cost, schedule, and performance for their assigned projects, in accordance with the approved L3 project execution processes. The responsibility of the Project Manager is to achieve and maintain contract execution, product delivery, and customer satisfaction, as well as support follow-on business development for their assigned projects/customers. Project Manager required skills include but are not limited to: team building, time management, risk management, cost control/financial management, multi-tasking, communication/briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing and customer relationship building in the program management disciplines.
Individual contributor or small team leader.
Limited initial program size and complexity leading to increased program complexity related to size and strategic importance.
Limited initial external contact with customer leading to program customer interface and local team leader critical to the assignment.
Supports proposal development activities on a case-by-case basis.
Manage assigned projects to meet schedules, performance and budget commitments (contractual and expected).
Track, manage and report project attributes to include the following:
Schedule performance against contract and forecast.
Cost performance against budget, EAC and performance measurement baseline.
Labor allocation against project needs.
Sales and profit performance against contract acceptance and forecast.
Project risks & opportunities.
Technical & production issues impacting project performance.
Establishing project baselines that ensure program success and provide the ability to track performance through Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
Provide supervisory oversight and direction to personnel assigned to the project.
Communicate project requirements to support personnel (Engineering, Finance, Quality, Material Control, Purchasing, Manufacturing, etc).
Identify issues affecting project performance and lead efforts to resolve them to closure.
Effectively transition projects from the capture phase through kickoff, execution and closure.
Provide support to business capture activities.
Understand and interpret customer requirements in order to work in partnership with customers to derive solutions.
Leverage new business with established customer base.
Support business unit forecasting by providing weekly/monthly sales & awards forecast to leadership and maintain insight into these forecast to provide supporting detail.
EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS
BS / BA in engineering, sciences, or other related program field desired.
Demonstrated prior experience working in an engineering, sciences, technical or related program area.
Professional experience in a team manufacturing or engineering environment desired.
Proficient at MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
Know or learn through training MS Project and be a very proficient user of that tool.
Ability to complete and utilize training in PMI specific coursework. Training in PMI specific coursework required.
PMI-PMP certification desired.
