Job Summary:Need for 1 Project Manager to support various projects including infrastructure, implementation of vendor solutions, and application development

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience as PRIMARY OR SOLO project manager on large, complex IT projects through full life cycle and at least 3 years’ experience managing multiple, interdependent projects including:
  • Requirements and specification development
  • Schedule development and tracking/reporting to project schedule across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Risk identification, tracking and reporting
  • Project status and communications
  • Stakeholder management and communications
  • Experience as a project manager in a PMO
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodology
  • Strong team leadership skills/experience
  • Superior communications and interpersonal skills to manage teams and stakeholders with tact and diplomacy
  • Extensive experience in managing information technology projects for which an application development methodology was enforced.
  • Superior multitasking skills
  • Experience with IT security intensive projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education
  • Bachelor's degree in science or technical discipline, with an emphasis in technology management or information management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMP Certification, Scrum Master Certification, and/or ITIL Certification
  • Experience in building and managing customer/client relationships

The Local Leader plays a critical role in leading the engagement of all employees in an office location, regardless of the group to which they belong; driving organizational health and enabling the virtual enterprise from the local office level and across the business. Communicating company information to employees in the office they lead, including being on point for key messages during local and/or national incidents is a vital role of the Local Leader. Duties include the following: * Understand and promote the Brown and Caldwell Company of Choice Strategy (CoC Strategy) * Model BC Values to our employees and clients * Communicate and model BC Safety standards to all BC employees * Lead the organizational health of the office through an "open door policy" for all BC employees * Facilitate the completion of, and respond to issues identified in, the BC Organizational Health Survey * Manage BC social spending funds for the office to maximize employee benefit * Connect the municipal, enterprise, private sector, and corporate staff into a unified office team around BC Values and Mission * Develop and lead community engagement efforts and organize local resources for participation and impact * Serve as an extension of the Company/Enterprise/Regional/Area Leadership to convey important Company information and promote initiatives * Work with leaders in all groups to help recruit, retain and develop employees * Network with other Local Leaders to help ensure mutual success and to collaborate/share best practices * Be a visible leader in the environmental industry in the office geography and within the Business * Hold monthly staff meetings to inform and engage all staff assigned to the office In Sacramento, the Local Leader also serves as the Operations Leader, who will work closely with the NorCal Area Leader, and Business Unit Leader to lead sales and/or business operations for an office. Goals for the Operation Leaders will be set by the Area Leader, and support Area sales, revenue, initiative, and/or labor management goals. Responsibilities may include client portfolio management, initiative management, project delivery oversight, and/or total labor management within the Business. A successful Operations Leader demonstrates the ability to lead BC employees and work collaboratively with other leaders in the best interest of our Company. Duties include the following: * Work with Area Leader to develop, communicate, and deliver a business plan that supports overall Company objectives * Connect with the business units, enterprise groups, and corporate groups as necessary to bring the right resources to bear on client projects * Deliver business metrics which may include new sales in (NSI), total direct labor (DL; import + source), and total indirect labor (IDL; import + source); Key metrics - NSI, DL, and IDL * Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to drive "on plan" project delivery for the Business; Key metric - project overruns * Drive sales by partnering with client service managers (CSM's) and the marketing team * Partner with the Area Leader to drive resource performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement * Attract, develop, and retain top talent * Manage company risk by ensuring compliance with the Company Risk Policies Desired Skills and Experience: * 10 or more years of experience in business development, planning and operations management * Understand and model Company values * Exhibits leadership core competencies (emotional intelligence, communication, teamwork, problem solving, interpersonal skills, business acumen, etc.) * Progressive responsivity in the environmental consulting, engineering, construction, and operations industry * Proven ability to leverage resources throughout the enterprise * Willingness to champion the use of BC standard tools and processes * Ability to work indoors in an environmentally controlled office * Ability to travel to visit local clients and to attend out-of-town business meetings, as required * Ability to sit or stand throughout an 8 to 10-hour business day * Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment * Written comprehension - the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing * Oral Comprehension - the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences * Oral Expression - the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand * Deductive Reasoning - the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense * Inductive Reasoning - the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events) * The position will be based in the Sacramento office, and relocation will be considered.
