SkillStorm is seeking a Project Manager for one of our clients in Charlotte, NC.


  • The project manager will assist in managing all project stakeholders to eliminate surprises and provide transparency to workstream interdependencies, issues, risks, and status.

  • Leading by example, he/she will inculcate program governance and delivery routines to reduce execution risk and improve project integration with all workstreams.

  • In addition to driving the people, process and technology work efforts, this strategic resource will facilitate the build out of the BAU processes and operating model and facilitate a smooth handover to BAU operations.

  • Leads the adoption & sustainment of change by planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling HR projects using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure efficient and effective project completion.

  • Communicates effectively both vertically and horizontally to obtain agreement between partners.

  • Responsible for analysis of present state, future state and facilitating implementations.

  • Drive appropriate change management rigor across the functional and technical workstreams (including all core CM competencies - issue/risk management, financial management, interdependency management, stakeholder/engagement management, schedule/milestone management, etc.)

  • Manages scope to ensure agreed/approved/appropriate value is delivered and commitments are achieved within time, cost, and quality parameters.

  • Responsible for clearly defined responsibilities and accountability for key project roles.

  • Directs all of the project life-cycle and works with matrix partners to oversee all phases of the project.

  • Will partner with the Program Manager and other project leads, key stakeholders and business SMEs, as well as technology and vendor resources.

  • Ensures transparency to key stakeholders, sponsor and champion.

  • Assesses the adoption risk associated with the change effort and manages project risk by understanding the impact of the work on the end to end processes within the Global Human Resources organization and the impacted down-streams.

  • Manages projects limited in scope to LOB products, processes or functions although some may have cross-functional or inter-departmental implications.

  • Serves as secondary contact to senior department managers for critical change initiatives and provides assistance to staff.

  • Partners with the business to develop and transition plans, including ongoing success measures, to sustain the change.

  • Accountable for initiatives limited in scope to department products, processes or functions although some may have cross-functional or inter-departmental implications.

  • Accountable for analyzing present-state, developing alternative future-state approaches and facilitating implementation.

  • Plans, organizes, monitors and controls projects using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure efficient and effective project completion.

  • Develop and socialize potential risk mitigation strategies.

  • Effectively communicates with managers, peers and business partners on deliverables, timelines and support needed.

  • Partners with the business to develop and transition plans, including ongoing success measures, to sustain the change.

  • Responsible for Clarity and PCM updates and project documents.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

  • Typically 3+ plus years of project management support experience.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of project management experience, including full project life-cycle exposure

  • Experience operating on a global scale, across multiple functions/regions and with multiple stakeholders

  • Business centric mindset with ability to utilize sound judgment and tailor approach to drive optimal business outcomes

  • Ability to manage a project in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and drive to results

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Analytical and presentation skills; ability to synthesize data into actionable reports and communicate concepts

  • Superior analytical and research skills - ability to communicate and analyze data, draw conclusions, and evaluate project impact gaps & risks

  • A creative, strategic thinker with a very strong practical viewpoint must be willing to roll up sleeves and operate in a lean team environment

  • Ability to drive cross-divisional coordination, communication, influence and negotiation

  • Self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines

  • Effectively deals with ambiguity and adapts to changing circumstances

  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) required.

Desired Skills

  • Human Resources product and process knowledge and experience

  • Project management certification (e.g. PMI, Six Sigma) or equivalent experience

  • BS / BA Degree
