Other information:

Bachelors degree in Business, healthcare, or related field required. Masters preferred. Must hold current Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or must obtain certification within six months of employment. Minimum eight (8) years of project management data analysis or similar experience required, preferably in healthcare. At least five years directly managing medium to high complexity projects.

This position will provide expert project management for large, complex and strategic multi-departmental projects. Direct various business area teams through definition, development, and implementation of critical processes and systems solutions. Coordinate and communicate among Executive Sponsors, Steering Committee, Project Team, and other stakeholders; Responsible for the successful completion of projects on time and within budget


  • Partners with senior business management to educate them on project concepts and facilitate determining business implications and opportunities

  • Directs various business area teams through definition, development, and implementation of critical processes.

  • Coordinates and communicates among Executive Sponsors, Steering Committees, project teams and other stakeholders

  • Manages large, complex, strategic enterprise wide projects utilizing multiple business resources. May manage multiple projects Plan.

  • Manages, coaches, and mentors project managers and project staff. Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces.

  • Manages day to day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale projects.

  • Oversees managers working on client engagements within practice. Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces.

  • Reviews high level deliverables across projects. Reviews the status reports of team members across projects and addresses issues as appropriate.

  • Implements engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with PHS methodology to ensure successful execution of projects.

  • Manages scope and minimizes exposure and risk across multiple projects.

  • Easily recognizes areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation.

  • Leads complex, cross-functional, strategic or business-critical projects and may partner with one or more IT or business project managers, holding overall accountability for assigned projects; may manage multiple, concurrent projects.

  • Project teams may include resources from multiple units as well as vendors and service providers. Teams may frequently include remote team members.

  • Ensure that project proposals are complete prior to going to Leadership for approval.

  • Directs project through full lifecycle, including project initiation and requirements definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and project close.

  • Reviews all contracts and statements of work for assigned project to validate that all legal and financial requirements are fulfilled before project execution; may work directly with Legal and/or Finance to resolve outstanding issues.

  • Reviews approved proposals with Executive Sponsors, IT Business Partners, IT PM (if assigned) and other stakeholders to ensure that project is fully understood by all stakeholders. Works with leadership to adjust as needed.

  • Partners with Executive Sponsors and business and technology stakeholders to define project/program governance structures and communication plans.

  • Develops detailed project plans, including charter, scope, metrics, budget, timelines/schedules, risk management, progress reporting, and other elements as appropriate to the project.

  • Provides accurate and timely reports on project progress, identifying risks and opportunities and escalating as appropriate.

  • Coordinates activities and communication across the project, including Executive Sponsors, Business Owners, Steering Committees, IT leaders, project team members and other stakeholders.

  • Conducts Project Retrospective , including lessons learned , assessment of success criteria and realized (or anticipated) benefits.

  • Manages, coaches, and mentors junior Project Managers and project staff.

  • Shares best practices with business department leaders and staff, informally or through structured Knowledge Sharing .

  • Leads or participates in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Contributes to the strategic mission by exhibiting the highest standards of project management competence and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement at the project, team, and organizational level.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

TRC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to join our new Renewables Delivery Team (RDT). The successful candidate can be located near any TRC office location within the United States. A Senior Project Manager will be a highly motivated individual and a front-line client-focused leader who works with stakeholders to understand project needs and manages teams to deliver services to meet those requirements. The project manager is responsible for networking with clients to identify and define projects, developing and negotiating proposals, building teams of technical staff and sub-consultants to execute work, maintaining quality and risk management processes to keep work on track, and delivering according to scope, schedule, and budget. For this role we are looking for individuals that have experience developing, or supporting the development of, solar and/or wind projects in the U.S. The RDT is a small, cross-functional group focused on supporting early stage renewable energy development through 30% design. The team engages with and leverages employees from across TRC's four Sectors (Environmental, Power, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas), as well as with partners and subcontractors. The RDT has responsibility for business development and origination, project management of complex projects, client management, providing expert subject matter guidance, and tracking and reporting related to solar and wind projects. Our Senior Project Managers: * Manage projects, leading teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements; * Provide highly-competent technical leadership resulting in successful project delivery; * Coordinate project workflows across multiple practice areas; * Deliver meticulous project financial management resulting in consistently profitable work; * Develop effective proposals resulting in the award of new work with clients; * Engage staff through recruiting and mentorship to build and strengthen the team; * Lead project teams across multiple assignments and projects concurrently; * Perform regular client engagement resulting in continually expanding client trust relationships; * Oversee preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets; * Lead project teams through development, design, and construction of renewable energy projects; * Manage and participate in technical tasks such as assessments, inspections, fieldwork, sampling, regulatory and permit reviews; * Provide compliance and regulatory support for existing and new clients; * Review existing permit conditions for applicability, conformity with rules, and site compliance; * Interface with regulatory agencies for permit development, negotiation, and compliance; * Perform Quality Analysis/Quality Control of key deliverables related to projects and tasks managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others. Responsible for implementation of firm quality procedures at project and task levels; * Participate in key trade organizations and in the marketplace; and * Identify and develop new business opportunities, and deliver responsive, high quality environmental/consulting services. Basic Qualifications: * B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering and/or Environmental Sciences from an accredited university; Master's degree preferred * Minimum 7 -- 15 years of relevant work experience; * Deep understanding and knowledge of development, design and construction of renewable energy generation facilities; * Strong entrepreneurial interest and experience engaging clients to identify and win new projects; * Experience leading, recruiting, building, mentoring, and fostering a project team of scientists and engineers; and * Excellent communication skills, including experience conveying technical presentations to clients and regulators. Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the basic qualifications, the qualifications below are highly desired but not required: * Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG). * A minimum of five years working in solar or wind power development.
