PSI Pax is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to support our government customer in Baltimore County, MD.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Project Manager is assigned the management of specific project work.

  • Performs daytoday management of the project, identifies issues and risks and recommends possible issue and risk mitigation strategies associated with the project.

  • Responsible for ensuring that work performed is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budget.

  • Identifies critical paths, tasks, dates, testing, and acceptance criteria.

  • Provides solutions to improve efficiency (e.g., reduce costs while maintaining or improving

performance levels).

  • Monitors issues and provides resolutions for uptodate status reports.

  • Demonstrates excellent writing and oral communications skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum seven (7) years successful Project Management experience managing large, high profile and sensitive projects

  • Previous experience managing software and/or hardware implementation and upgrade projects using

Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies

  • Experience creating and managing project documentation as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI)

  • Experience in creating and managing project deliverables and documents (SDLC and PMI)

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Project, Excel, WORD)

  • Exceptional organization and coordination skills

  • Ability to work five days per week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess a Project, Program, Portfolio, or Agile management certificate from the Project Management


  • Possess a Microsoft Project Professional Certification

  • Experience defining, creating, and implementing Project Management Processes

  • Experience with Executive level presentations and communications

  • Experience managing projects using Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint

  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements

  • Experience facilitating the completion of customer deliverables

  • Previous experience working in a Government entity (Federal, State or Local)

  • Extensive customer service relationship management experience

  • Experience in managing high profile programs for enterprise solutions

  • Experience managing vendor conflicts and legal resolution

  • Experience managing projects associated with financial systems

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSTION The Project Manager position, in the Service Portfolio Management Project Office (SPMPO) team, will be responsible for supporting Exelon wide Principal, Senior Project Managers, and Project Managers in project delivery with the Exelon Information Technology project management tools, templates, and methodology. This position includes responsibility for maintaining project management and project governance standards, ensuring Project Manager (PM) compliance, tracking metrics, producing dashboards and reports, and functional administration of the ExelonNow-PPM tool. Plan, organize, and provide training and support to PMs, qualifications, communities of practice, office hours, and continuous improvement of project management processes. The role is focused on supporting the enablement of project managers, mentoring and guidance to improve project manager delivery performance, and ensuring predictable project outcomes for all Exelon projects delivered. This role specifically focuses on providing project manager support and guidance to Corporate (TD&E, TechOps, EWS, and OCIO) project managers in understanding processes, standards, guidelines, and Management Model to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness for project delivery. Exelon PM Standards and tools support to all Exelon IT PMs is also a core responsibility to continue to improve Exelon's Project Management discipline and execution maturity. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Support for Functional Administration of ExelonNow-PPM (EN-PPM) tool. Participate EN-PPM defect and enhancement prioritization, requirements, analysis, and testing for operational and strategic stories for EN-PPM application support and continuous improvement. Develop PPM tool functional test scripts, job aids, and PM guidance documentation. Develop EN-PPM dashboards and reports to support EN-PPM users. Responsible and accountable for monitoring, assessing, and evaluating project performance and adherence to PM Standards through formal phase gate reviews, informal reviews, project health checks, and project audits of Corporate projects. Support PM on-boarding, orientation, training, and mentoring of Corporate PMs. Assist Corporate PMs with project setup, administration activities, project initiation, classification, and lessons learned activities. Conduct monthly project status report data quality reviews for Corporate and IT Business Plan projects. Prepare project portfolio reports, plan and facilitate executive leadership monthly review meetings (MRM) for Corporate IT BUs. When leading projects, is the primary communicator with the sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level and interdepartmental presentations. When supporting larger projects, provides project lead with information required for effective communication with key stakeholders. Support the SPMPO operations of the IT PM Community of Practice; Office Hours; Lessons Learned Analysis for continuous improvement for PM Standards, Processes, and Tools; and Reporting and Metrics for Project Management Delivery and Execution. Interface effectively forming good working relationships with team members, line managers, internal interfacing organizations and contract service providers as applicable. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Informational Systems or Computer Science or related discipline and 2 - 5 years project management or experience in IT Project Management Office (PMO) operations. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change. Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment. Demonstrated leadership, communications and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance.
