Position Summary

Responsible for managing tasks for the Pueblo County Detention project to ensure compliance with scope, budget, and timelines related to the project. Assists the Senior Project Manager on assigned tasks.

NOTE:This is a project (time) limited position and therefore the position with end with the completion of the Detention Center construction project.

What You Will Do

  • Ensures scope, budget, and timeline adherence. Maintains strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards; assists in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.

  • Reviews plans and specifications to ensure Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) compliance with all project specifications and requirements.

  • Reviews submittal data and drawings to ensure compliance with specifications; reviews and tracks allrequests for Information to ensure proper conformance to contract documents.

  • Utilizes expertise in performing continual CRITICAL field observation of all work being placed.

  • Works with the Project Management team to monitor the building schedule to ensure adherence to the overall construction schedule.

  • Monitors all schedule issues to ensure that no adverse cost impact to the County occurs.

  • Reviews CMAR Schedule of Values and other contract documents to determine savings are achievable with alternative methods or materials.

  • Reviews plans, specifications, and work in place to ensure continual compliance to the American Correctional Association Adult Jail Standards; monitors Materials Testing and Inspection consultant to Pueblo County, and ensures all items of work being placed are within the specification tolerances.

  • Independently travels to meet with on-site inspectors from Pueblo Regional Building to understand any issues of concern;works with the CMAR to resolve such issues.

  • Works with Pueblo Facilities staff throughout the construction period to ensure they are able to observe placement of critical infrastructure to support their understanding of the operation of the equipment upon County acceptance of the facility.

  • Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.

  • Fills in for Senior Project Manager as necessary and/or required

What You Have

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Engineering, Architecture, or Construction or Trades related fields required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Seven (7) years or more experience in a managerial or leadership role within a correctional facility (jail/prison/other high security facilities) in the areas of construction, maintenance, and project management required

  • Minimum Five (5) years or more thorough working knowledge and experience with utilizing digital Project Management software required

  • Minimum Seven (7) years or more Direct experience in managing the installation and long-term maintenance of institutional HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical components in a correctional environmentrequired

  • Minimum Five (5) years or more thorough working knowledge of and direct experience with the accreditation standards and requirements of the American Correctional Association, with the experience and capability to identify potential non-conformance issues of such standards requirements required

  • Minimum Five (5) years or more experience in the construction process of large multi-million dollar correctional facility construction or renovation projectsrequired

LICENSE:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's Licenserequired

  • Must successfully pass background check
