The Development Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the initiation, planning and execution of projects within the Software Development Department. A successful PM will monitor teams to ensure objectives are met, have an understanding of the respective modules, and deliver features within scope on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate daily with development leaders, quality assurance leaders, and product management. Identify high priority items and schedule meetings with respective project team members and stakeholders. Communicate through email and item tracker. Lead weekly meetings that range from large group to small groups. Write up and send out meeting notes and action items to keep the teams informed and on track.

  • Work on four to five medium-to-large projects and approximately a dozen smaller projects simultaneously. Maintain item tracker items and ensure that all relevant data is kept up to date (estimated development time, approval source, assignments, etc.)

  • Identify challenges by interviewing the right people and resources on a timely basis. Monitor the progress of projects to ensure they will be completed on time. Intervene where needed to clear road blocks and clarify process and action items.

  • Create status reports. Inform stakeholders (upper management, operational business units, cross-departmental) of progress. Produce several reports throughout the lifecycle of the project. These reports should identify project description, key event summary, identified challenges, and timeline of each milestone of the project.

  • Manage change requests. Work with colleagues to identify changing requirements and ensure that appropriate parties are updated on project modifications.

  • Develop project plans. For larger projects, create and maintain a project breakout and timeline. Coordinate with the Developers, QA, Product, App Support, IT, and other departments to ensure each piece gets done on time and expectations are managed.

  • Lead with confidence. Motivate teams and manage projects with a calm and reassuring demeanor.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree

Experience Required:

Prior experience as a Project Manager.

Prior experience with project management software preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Well organized

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

The Technical Manager (TM)/Project Manager (PM) is a dual-hatted member of a multi-functional team providing technical support services to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the FAA Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center Logistics Center in Oklahoma City, OK. The TM/PM's technical, operational, and functional tasks spectrum includes management and coordination of contract performance, and providing technical guidance and supervision of employees. The SME/PM's additional project management tasks spectrum includes all on-site contract and project control and management tasks. PM standard individual administrative tasks including individual employee time, timesheet, leave, and training completion; employee performance management; employee compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties. Duties and Responsibilities. * Works under the functional/operational supervision of the FAA Contracting Officer Representative (COR). * Performs Technical Manager (TM) duties and tasks including: * Performs as Central Point of Contact for the CO/COR * Develops and maintains program management plans including the Staffing Plan, Quality Control Plan, Transition-In Plan, and Transition-Out Plan. * Manages the program for the company. * Maintains the appropriate staffing level required by the Government. * Provides day-to-day supervision for company employees. * Notifies Government point of contact not later than 30 minutes after shift begins when company employees are not going to report. * Coordinates with COR on any Compensatory or Overtime requirements. * Resolves discipline problems with employees. * Reports administratively to the Director of Operations. * Directs and manages the FAA Technical Support Services Project Team Staff; is responsible for all on-site contract and project, service and products delivery (including Deliverables), human resources (including recruiting, selection, hiring, onboarding, performance, human capital sustainment), procurement, training, fleet, financial, project control, timekeeping, travel, expense, reporting, and administrative management. * Provides on-site support primarily during standard business hours and/or contractually mandated core hours from 0600-1800 hours, Monday through Friday; provides occasional support outside of core business hours. Qualifications Education and Years of Experience. * Associate's Degree or its equivalent in Electronic, Software, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology * 10 years of experience managing electronics engineering activity and supervising a technical staff including technicians and engineering personnel. Required Skills/Certifications. * Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations. * High level of problem solving skills and the ability to recommend and implement alternative set-up and/or operations for complex systems. * Detail-oriented and possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks. * Ability to provide incident and after action reports and analysis. * Excellent customer service skills and professional presence.
