nbkc bank is currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Product and Project Management team.

The Project Manager will oversee the successful initiation, planning, implementation, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a variety of projects and initiatives. You'll play a critical role in implementing key initiatives for the Deposit, Lending, and Operations teams. The Project Manager will conduct and manage implementations while working with external vendors and internal customers to maximize the overall scope, impact, and effectiveness of vendor relationships.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the key point of contact for stakeholders to intake and define the project objective, scope, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with the project's Executive Sponsors.

  • Prioritize and schedule project requests with the project team.

  • Lead project initiatives end-to-end, including gathering requirements and defining scope, identifying impacted teams, sizing these impacts, and working with management teams to assign and schedule resources.

  • Lead projects of varying scale and complexity that span across internal and external departments and vendors.

  • Ensure clear reporting of project status from project teams including timelines, milestone tracking, budget status, and risks to executives, stakeholders, and management teams.

  • Prioritize and escalate critical project tasks, execute project work plans, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

  • Identify project risks and issues and determine resolution and mitigation plans.

  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

  • Maintain and evaluate project metrics via Monday.com.

  • Apply analytical and critical thinking to identify team, process or tool inefficiencies and risk areas, recommend solutions, create workflow diagrams, and implement projects or processes to remediate or mitigate.

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately in accordance with the Project Policy.

  • Provides oversight for projects and is responsible for reporting progress, solutions and completion to all stakeholders, including Executive Management.

  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members. Influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

  • Develop and grow business relationships that are vital to the success of the project.

  • Responsible for planning and scheduling project timelines, tracking project deliverables using appropriate tools and providing direction and support to project team.

  • Manages vendor implementations, while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts.

  • Assists in the rollout and administration of key vendor portals and systems

  • Provides oversight of enhancement/change requests and implementations

  • Acts as a liaison between teams to ensure effective communication throughout project timeline to completion

  • Assists in oversight of Core System updates and testing and ensures timely delivery of new benefits and features to end users. Monitors for new options available, and advances ideas for technical improvements.

  • Creates and provides implementation education of Deposit division personnel and operational staff related to new products and processes related to Core and online banking systems.

  • Follows all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

What you'll bring

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 5+ years banking experience preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional projects to meet expectations for productivity, project management quality, and project goals.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Project Management skills that include the following:

  • Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects and initiatives; across a wide range of resources and vendors required for project delivery.

  • Review project documentation, prioritizing deadlines, develop schedules and tracks timeline for project deliverables.

  • Validation and testing of any changes.

  • Assist with the project coordination and rollout.

  • Escalates urgency to manager where appropriate.

  • Evaluate existing processes to gain efficiency.

  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills and effective team player.

  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com.

  • Advanced knowledge and proven experience with MS Office products.

  • Solid proficiency of daily utilization to create, format and develop reports and presentation material.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and technology
