Project Manager (National Travel) - Heavy Civil Construction Solar Earthwork Projects
Location: National Travel - no relocation required
Job Summary: Manage renewable energy projects throughout the Western United States.
A Traveling Manager (PM) is an employee who is willing to manage construction projects nationwide. The manager is to maintain a physical presence on-site during construction operations. This will require finding local temporary housing for the duration of each project.
A Traveling Manager is not required to relocated to the corporate or a division office. They may reside at a place of their choosing.
When Traveling Manager is not assigned to a project they will report to his permanent residence and work as necessary to complete work assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values.
Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads, subordinate project managers, construction managers, etc.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
Maintain thorough understanding of WWC/Owner contract and develop project contract status reports.
Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
5+ years experience with solar/energy related projects.
Bachelor's degree in construction management or Engineering (or related work experience)
Experience dealing with subcontracts and self-perform work
Experience managing an EPC Contract

Individual must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. Must possess a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. Significant business skill required.
Basic knowledge of construction industry
High knowledge of commissioning procedures.
Good organizational skills
Ability to work towards and reach deadlines
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
