Job Description: Summary

  • The Project Manager reports to program leadership and is responsible for setting direction, planning, executing and leading a team to implement core program control support services for the program. Activities include management of the strategic plan; communications between the program, MAXIMUS corporate, and the client; overall program oversight including dashboards, program-wide communications, and process and procedures; and management of a PMO team supporting program service areas and the overall program in executing program control functions. The Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of Information Technology and non-IT projects including the assurance of schedule and budget attainment, overall achievement of outcomes, results and deliverables to support the business in delivering the contract requirements The Project Manager is responsible for supporting efforts to increase consistency of processes, program morale and build a common culture, across vendors, functions and locations. Initiatives are managed as projects and the position requires familiarity with the core concepts of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) or equivalent project management frameworks/standards. The primary focus of the PMO is to facilitate program components and the overall program to operate as a high-performing team. The position requires experience in people management. Implement program-wide initiatives Oversee Program Management status Report and communicate plans to client Partner with Finance Director to assess risk Assist in managing sub-contracts and monitoring performance across the project Provide leadership, coordination and management of the PMO processes and functions Manage the PMO team to coordinate with senior program leadership to identify strategic process improvement opportunities that are aligned with strategic business objectives Assist in building program component capabilities to ensure the continuous evolution of the principle of process performance management and techniques Serve as a conduit for communication between program component leads, project managers, and the executives who make the strategic decisions for the program Provide supervision to the team that provides program management support functions and administrative support to the program

Additional Duties and Requirements Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, or 4-6 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree Master's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred At least seven (7) years of Project Management related work experience required At least three (3) years of contact center experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required Proven ability to deliver projects on-time and on-budget using industry accepted project management methodology Solid working knowledge of risk management, configuration management, disaster recovery and quality assurance Deep knowledge of and expertise in applying project management methodology, tools and techniques and software development methods and approaches and operational service delivery methods and practices Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment with multiple goals and deadlines Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently Ability to establish relationships at all levels of the program (executives to front-line staff) Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with the ability to think and execute strategically Ability to act in a manner to impact and influence program outcomes, initiate actions independently, and act with flexibility and resiliency Strong leadership, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Strong business acumen Demonstrated experience in motivating teams to work together in the most efficient manner as well as in mentoring, coaching and effectively transferring expertise to others Direct supervisory experience (second line supervisory experience preferred)

  • Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.

  • In some instances this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

  • Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve problems.

  • Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.

  • Frequently interacts with subordinate employees, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.

  • Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

  • Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.

  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

Job Description * Plans, organizes, directs, controls and delivers complex projects and/or programs prioritized in alignment with the client's expectations and business needs.
