As a member of the Merchant Services Operations (MSOPS) Strategy Team, the Project Manager will be spend the majority of their time leading and managing projects. He/She will have Portfolio (project / program) management responsibilities and will report to the Merchant Services Operations Strategy Director responsible for End to End Process Improvement, Program, Project, Change Readiness and BOW oversight.
The Project Manager will drive and oversee initiatives focused on run the bank efficiencies as well as strategic operations implementations. Additionally, they may be asked to pilot initiatives in an agile environment (rapid "test and learn") with similar yet less stringent tracking and oversight discipline. This position is ideal for an experienced project/program manager with strong organizational skills, an innovative mindset as well as risk and controls experience and an analytical aptitude. The position is primarily responsible for collaboration with various businesses and functional areas across Merchant Ops and occasionally, across the firm. Projects may include process/operational improvements, product enhancements, technology changes, control enhancements, development and execution of test methodologies and processes, etc. Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity, given the rapid pace of change and various constituencies supported, is required.
Manages projects for the Merchant Services Operations business ranging in size and complexity from planning to closure.
Drives full traditional lifecycle project management including
Scope / Charters and Business Cases
May develop requirements, JIRA stories, conceptual designs
Creates and maintains detailed project plans, schedules and project artifacts
Identifies, assesses and tracks risks and mitigation activities
Strongly and clearly communicates project progress and overall status reporting.
Assembles or provides oversight of the assembly of implementation plans
Oversees implementation, monitoring and conducts lessons learned
Familiar with developing business cases and project financials, strong analytical capabilities
Evaluate business process re-engineering solution recommendations and translate decisions into formalized projects
Work collaboratively with team members across line of business and cross functional teams.
Create concise high quality status reports, leveraging firm PM tool standards, assembles meeting agendas, tracks follow ups, crafts and delivers presentations for various stakeholder's, and ensures end to end tracking
Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
Proven track record of delivering results on major projects/programs
Diverse problem solving experience, such as obtained in prior PM or management consulting roles
A high level of personal initiative including goal setting, personal development, continuous learning and team / community contributions
Proven track record managing several multi-faceted projects in parallel successfully
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with senior executives, team members and peers; easily fosters and builds lasting relationships anchored on a foundation of trust.
Ability to influence stakeholders to take action / facilitate buy-in of recommendations
Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills: ability to handle multiple mid to large project assignments simultaneously and function in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
An outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), work well in cross-functional teams
Flexibility, adaptability, endurance and motivation to achieve exceptional results
Produce project materials that are on target, on time and of the highest quality standards
BA/BS degree required (advanced degrees, other certification a plus)
Minimum of seven years of project management experience
Project Management Professional (PMI) certification and Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification highly preferred
Experience in Payment Processing, Servicing, IT Retail/Consumer Banking, Controls, Risk Management or other related areas preferred
Proficient in Microsoft tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, MS Project, MS Project Server, SharePoint as well as other tools such as Clarity, Visio, iGraphx
Highly organized and detail oriented with a structured/analytical approach to problem solving
Must be comfortable with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment
Advanced written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to design, frame and deliver compelling messages, presentations, proposals and project summaries
Travel may be required
