For the past several years, Columbia has been planning for a campus in the Manhattanville section of West Harlem, incorporating input provided through over a hundred meetings with community members, students, faculty and civic groups. This new proposed campus would resolve the University's need for additional space while providing active ground floor retail opportunities, open space, and enhanced access to the waterfront.

The area of development comprises approximately 6.8 million sf of new development (over 17 acres) and extends roughly from the south side of West 125th Street to 133rd Street and from Broadway to 12th Avenue. Also included are properties on the east side of Broadway from West 131st Street to 134th Street between Broadway and Old Broadway.

Columbia is building its Manhattanville team and seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Construction Field Engineering to assist the construction process on one or more projects in Manhattanville. The Project Manager is responsible for project management of major capital projects from inception, including programming, design, bidding, and construction, in accordance with recognized industry standards as well as established budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Responsible for managing schedules, budgets and ensuring quality control for all projects.

Oversees the bid solicitation and award process for major construction projects and determines contract awards. Responsible for establishing and monitoring appropriate financial and administrative management system for construction projects in conjunction with other division staff member.

Provides guidance and assistance to the University community on the feasibility, programming, cost and scheduling of major construction projects. Serves as owner's representative with architects, engineers, and construction managers. Prepares status reports and representations to Departmental and University Executive staff. Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Candidates seeking consideration must have previous responsibility for administering major, multi-faceted projects with a broad range of participants and functionality. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, strong analytical skills.

Hands on experience with PC software for word processing, and spreadsheets. Must have proven ability to work in client-service environment. Special Instructions Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering; construction management; or architecture preferred.
