LMI is seeking a skilled project manager for a large Federal Government Agency with experience in leading or supporting strategic initiatives and associated program and project management activities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive program/project execution plans using standard project artifacts such as integrated master project schedules, risk registers, and status reports

  • Identify critical cross-functional inter-dependencies, monitor dependencies, and facilitate alignment between the key PMO supported project(s) suppliers and stakeholders

  • Provide overall guidance on the management of resources and assignments

  • Provide on-going programmatic support to identify, track the status of action items

  • Provide ad-hoc program management support as needed (e.g. documenting minutes, etc.)

  • Provide functional expertise to strengthen the design and implementation of program plans

  • Develop the risk/issue register and overall risk management process; track the status of risks, issues, and action items while proactively monitoring the escalation process

  • Highlight key risks/issues for discussion and mitigation

  • Tracking status of project deliverables and milestones based on information collected from client team managers

  • Gathers and analyzes data necessary to support planning

  • Implementing, administering, and updating PMO capability areas based on stakeholder feedback

  • Prepare for, facilitate, and follow-up as needed for all PMO meetings (one-on-one meetings, bi-weekly status, multi-business unit


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 5 years or greats of experience in similar field.

  • Strong organizational skills - someone with the ability to work with little direction on complex tasks and competing demands.

  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality with exceptional organization skills.

  • Experience as a consultant working with clients in the federal government desired

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and be a self-starter, solution seeker

  • Ability to meet targets and handle high pressure environment

  • Display a capacity to learn quickly and responds well to changes and opportunities.

  • Create effective teamwork and an environment conducive to developing cross functional groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in federal government or federal government consulting.

Qualified candidates must have an active Secret clearance.&nbsp;<br /></p><p>The Project Manager will be providing management and technical support in reviewing a variety of Vessel Response Plans (VRP) and Ship Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP) on behalf of the U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) Office of Marine Environmental Response Policy (CG-MER). The Program Managersupport shall include: (1) supporting USCG-led improvements of work procedures in place for processing VRP/SOPEP submittals, (2) conducting technical review of VRPs/SOPEPs, including amendments, (3) providing information management services that support VRP processing, (4) managing storage of VRP/SOPEP, and (5) supporting the training of USCG personnel on the processing of VRP submittals.&nbsp;<br /></p><p>The Project Manager will:&nbsp;<br /></p><ul><li><p>Supports USCG strategic goals of maritime safety, protection of natural resources, and facilitating maritime mobility.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p>Complete a technical review of each new VRP, plan revisions, and plan amendments within the specified timeframes and provide written notification to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) of any plan that cannot be processed within those established timeframes along with a proposal.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p>Review of each VRP to determine whether the plan is complete and includes the elements required by law, regulation or policy by determining whether the specific measures outlined in each submitted plan will achieve the applicable regulatory requirements and ensure consistency with the National Planning Criteria.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p>Recommend a finding of Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, or Not Applicable for each VRP checklist element based on the detailed criteria provided by the USCG in VRP Express&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Clearly identify deficiencies with regulatory citations and required corrective actions, andprovide instructions and due dates for the plan holders to submit plan corrections.
