The Medical Product Team, within the Global Retail Markets Claims organization, is looking for an experienced change agent to support strategic projects and process improvement efforts across the Accidental & Health (A&H) Claims Operations. You will work across functions within the broader Liberty Mutual ONE Team to support growth of Group A&H, Individual Worksite and Special Risk. You will be the primary point of contact to drive A&H Claims Strategy with a clear focus on employee engagement and customer experience, all while maintaining our integrity to "Pay What We Owe".
The Medical Claims teams are responsible for payment and/or reimbursement for policyholders' medical bills when they are injured in car accidents or have A&H policies. This is a high visibility role with senior leadership and will require superior communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), collaboration and stakeholder management, as well as a proven track record leading organizational change.
Develop and define A&H claims handling strategy to optimize our claims decision making strategies and processes
Design and implement technology changes and vendor solutions to make the claims adjusting work simpler, more engaging and more accurate.
Map and communicate the current and future state of our claims process to key stakeholders within the Medical Claims organization, our senior leadership team, US and global consumer markets, and key partnering organizations (Customer Advocacy, IT, Product, Underwriting, xLOB, etc.).
Achieve deep understanding of business processes, recognize critical process design tradeoffs and its business implications in evaluation and presentation of workflow/process designs
Use strong analytical techniques and frameworks to assess design options, test hypotheses and evaluate results. Analytical ability to select appropriate metrics, measure progress along those metrics and establishing targets for end to end processes will be a critical skill for this role.
Coordinate and deliver proposals, recommendations, milestones and progress updates to both large and small audiences and all levels of leadership. Creates alignment, drives transparency, shares insights and takes ownership for ensuring all key milestones, deadlines and deliverables on strategic initiatives are met effectively.
Conduct strategic assessment of our competitive position in the marketplace tailored to key jurisdictions and established strategic priorities while delivering best-in-class customer service and top tier financial performance
Prior A&H Claims experience, in-depth knowledge of Group A&H/Voluntary Benefits industry, practices and processes required
5-10 years of progressively more responsible related experience focusing on large scale and complex project management in process improvements and operations excellence.
Track record in leading project teams to conduct complex data and process analysis to make process improvement recommendations
Must have strong decision-making capabilities, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Prior Lean & Six Sigma project experience.
Strong collaboration capabilities to create alignment across all levels for key stakeholders
Solid organizational skills to coordinate activities, projects and programs.
Solid knowledge of theories and practices within the claims field operations; knowledge of claims management practices, company operations and applicable policies.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent training required. MBA preferred.
Advanced insurance related designations/CPCU preferred.
