SUMMARY: The Project Manager of Lab Support plans, coordinates and tracks the progress of projects. Facilitates high quality project team meetings that drive project team accountabilities to deliver project objectives to achieve business goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds project plans that meet business objectives
Aligns stakeholders, initiates and tracks progress of projects, manages the timeline, drives project team accountabilities to deliver project objectives
Develops and implements project charters and metrics; obtains stakeholder alignment; identifies project risks and develops risk mitigation plans; acts as a source of conflict resolution
Leverages well-developed interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with functional groups throughout the organization
Prepares and presents project updates and stage-gate reviews at leadership forums
Uses strong business knowledge, technical skills, and sound judgment to effectively assess risk, develop contingencies and determine when to elevate issues
Uses strong project and organizational knowledge, leadership, and active facilitation to enable effective team meetings and high-performance teams
Proactively manages project risk and critical path items and effectively removes roadblocks
Identifies interdependencies and strategic ways to facilitate project success
Creates and maintains project records, including design history files
Ensures accuracy and high quality of project documentation
Adheres to Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics Compliance Program
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as molecular, biochemistry, biotechnology engineering, etc., strongly preferred
Experience:
2+ years of experience project management, product development, clinical laboratory or equivalent combination.
Proactive with a strong sense of accountability
Able to manage multiple projects of simple to moderate complexity at the same time
Demonstrated ability to lead projects through ambiguous situations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate complex information throughout the organization
Effective interpersonal, negotiation, and meeting facilitation skills
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills. Able to effectively facilitate conflict resolution
Able to think creatively in leading project teams through obstacles and find the best path forward
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
Project management training and certification (e.g. PMP) is a plus
Proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, and Portfolio management software
Experience in a GMP or regulated environment (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Diagnostics, or Consumer Product)
