The Provider Finance Department is hiring a Strategic Advisor to the Director of Provider Finance to conduct an organizational communication and alignment assessment. The Strategic Advisor will perform advanced (senior-level) project management work.

Work involves coordinating the planning, initiation, and execution of an organizational communication assessment, an organizational alignment assessment, developing materials and processes for promoting cross-department and cross-divisional communication, and developing materials and processes for translation of role profiles to actionable and specific job descriptions. The Strategic Advisor will monitor the progress and schedule of these projects, facilitate engagement by staff, directors, and executive leadership in the projects, will execute deliverables to advance the completion of these projects on a monthly and quarterly basis, and will communicate with project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Job Functions:

  1. (35%) Evaluates organizational communication through assessments of formal and informal existing practices. Initiates multi-pronged and multi-layered review of organizational communication patterns. Develops recommendations to improve organizational communication strategies and techniques, including development of long-term measurement tools to test efficacy of communication processes and strategies.

  2. (35%) Evaluates organizational alignment through assessments of formal and informal existing practices. Initiates multi-pronged and multi-layered review of organizational alignment patterns. Develops recommendations to improve organizational alignment strategies and techniques, including development of long-term measurement tools to test efficacy of expectation development and alignment processes and strategies.

  3. (15%) Compiles and distributes project information and project status reports. Coordinates project activities with all business areas. Creates documentation procedures to capture and manage changes in original project plan.

  4. (10%) Develops and implements plans to communicate project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members. Reviews and recommends proposals for technology or resources that are required for implementation of organizational communication or alignment improvements and monitoring. Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid them.

  5. (5%) Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge Skills Abilities:

Knowledge of change management best practices for a rapidly growing organization; of project management theories and practices applicable to projects that are highly complex in scope; of business communication strategies; and organizational alignment theories.

Skill in project management monitoring; in facilitating stakeholder communication; in designing strategies to foster integration; and in the use of a computer and applicable software.

Ability to conduct neutral assessments and provide unbiased feedback based on those assessments; to manage project activities; to establish project goals and objectives; to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions; to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues; to demonstrate negotiation and facilitation skills; to identify project risks and gaps; to prepare reports; to communicate effectively; and to direct, assign, and evaluate the work of project staff.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:

Initial Selection Criteria:

Minimum Qualifications: At least two years of experience working with an organization that has undergone a growth in size, programs, or customers by at least 50% in a 5 year period.

Demonstrated experience conducting communications assessments or organizational alignment assessments. Bachelor's Degree in business, organizational management, communications, or a related field required.

Preferred: No prior employment with the Provider Finance Department so the candidate can conduct neutral assessments and provide unbiased feedback.
