Under general direction of the Director of M&A, the M&A Project Manager plans, administers, and controls all aspects of large complex project(s) through associated staff. Has primary accountability to the Director of M&A and the Project Sponsor for delivering on project objectives for scope, schedule, and financial targets. This is accomplished by applying the knowledge of project management principles & lean six sigma tools and processes towards project activities, combined with the skills and abilities to guide a diverse team to achieve a common goal. Projects may include merger integrations, Inmar ecosystem strategic partnership integrations, corporate project initiatives, corporate lean six sigma projects and business area support requests.
Project Management (30%)
Applies knowledge of project management principles and tools to lead large complex projects
Manages all project phases and activities required for initiation, planning, administering, monitoring, reporting, and lastly transitioning and closing the project.
Self directed person who works with Project Sponsor and stakeholders cross multiple departments to complete the Project Management Plan outlining goals, scope, requirements, resources, key milestones, financial metrics, etc.
Ensures problems, issues and risks that may affect achieving project goals are identified, documented and resolved.
Transitions project to ongoing business users in a manner that encourages success and governance to maintain the desired business outcomes.
Communicates expectations clearly and continuously to team members and stakeholders. Articulate the objectives of key stakeholders to the project team. Articulate and represent issues and obstacles faced by the project team to the Project Sponsor and key stakeholders.
Serves as primary contact between stakeholders through all phases of project management. In doing so, demonstrates leadership characteristics and personality traits that serve to guide the project team in achieving objectives and balancing constraints
Develop and implement end-to-end service solutions based on Lean Six Sigma improvement principles & methods, tools and techniques ensuring analysis and suggested improvements are driven by data and direct observation rather than gut feel
Completes project schedule/work breakdown structure to estimate effort and duration of project tasks and then assign resources and completion dates for project tasks.
Develops sub-plans ensuring effective communication, testing, training and documentation, go-live and transition.
Effectively manages project scope by ensuring any changes are documented, vetted, and approved via a clearly defined change management process.
Tracks and reports project status and key metrics to project stakeholders regularly.
Completes post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved and provides insight for improvement to future delivery of projects
Operate with independence and objectivity while leading efforts to develop and implement Process Improvements, Change Management and standardization of business processes.
Ability to partner with business to gather voice of the customer, voice of the process in order to build a solid business case and "sell it" to senior leadership securing funding, staffing and high level project prioritization
Ability to work with the Financial Planning & Analysis department to ensure Cost Benefit Analysis accounts for both hard and soft costs & benefits (both at top line and bottom line) and track benefits throughout the agreed-to payback period
Demonstrated ability to develop a deep understanding of business problems, as they related to ineffective processes, roles, tools and data in order to develop pragmatic solutions that resolve root cause rather than symptoms in a sustainable way
Effectively analyze existing business processes to identify impediments to flow, failure modes creating rework and built in loops and complexity that hinder efficient and effective processing and drive up costs and lead time
Minimum 5 years project management experience plus 5 years of business experience in a related discipline such as Operations, IT, Client Management, etc.
Must have 5+ years of continuous improvement experience with 2+ years as a full time Black Belt
Bachelor's degree in supply chain/logistics, computer science, business, engineering or related area is required.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams of people; excels in leading cross-functional and inter-disciplinary teams towards common objectives.
High degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to act as functional liaison for IT projects.
High degree of proficiency in both verbal and written communication to include customer facing experience.
Ability to effectively manage all phases of project management; including planning, monitoring, and control, team formation and development, project tracking and project deliverables.
Ability to develop and maintain effective communication and resource plans and serve as an effective liaison between all constituents involved in the assigned project.
Google application suite and various project management scheduling tools
PMP Certification is a plus.
