You will also be a vital team member who will also assist fellow craft union team members in the successful completion of their assigned tasks.
This is an intermediate project manager position. Typical tasks include gathering weekly payroll, providing upper management with daily status reports, forecasting monthly cost and revenue, maintaining a project-specific Microsoft Projects schedule and analyzing project budgets and earned value. The candidate will be working in the Cincinnati Area to support a local Utility with natural gas projects.
Project Administration as required
Assist Operations with onboarding new employees (when required).
Assist in project office set-up
Create and communicate the project plan: safety orientations, training, etc.
Project Controls 75%
Accruals tracked weekly and turned in at the end of every week.
Scheduling work and crew makeups on MS Project for internal and external
Weekly manager and cost per day reports
Review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate
Work with Accounts Receivable and Billing Department to make sure all revenue is accounted for and accurate.
Forecasting monthly and annual revenue for each project.
End of month explanations for variances in the forecast
Work with internal support groups (Finance & Accounting, Billing) to set up projects in the accounting system.
Project Management 25%
Develop, maintain and update program documentation.
Develop and maintain a project file system (physical and electronic)
Maintain customer contact to obtain/provide project specific information
Estimate costs based on provided estimating tools and or work with others to develop budgets.
Ensure stakeholder notification and buy-in.
Full understanding of the contract.
Ensuring Change Orders are documented per the contract.
Complete project close-out per company
Decision Making and Problem Solving:
Basic understanding of Natural Gas Industry standards and practices.
Ability to interpret field conditions and communicate project requirements
Ability to develop and communicate ideas regarding the project
Basic understanding of the project life cycle as defined by
Ability to apply basic project management concepts, and methodologies.
Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project
Experience with Prima Vera P6 software is a plus (not required)
Proficient of financial practices and principles.
Proficient in organizational management
Proficient in Technical Schematics
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum supervision
AA degree and 2 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
Desired: Project Management Certificate from an accredited school or Project Management Institute.
