General Overview

As part of the Quality and Safety work, within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, the Infection Prevention and Control Project Manager will support the Infection Prevention and Control Collaborative (IPCC) which oversees quality and safety for the enterprise Infection Control service line. The Project Manager will work closely with the MGB Chief of Infection Control and Director to manage committee and workgroup meetings, develop process maps, project plans, policies, reports and presentations, and coordinate analyses for MGB enterprise infection prevention and control helping to guide and reduce barriers to success. This position will work closely with clinical and administrative leadership across the enterprise thus requiring excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

● Provide project management support for the MGB Infection Prevention and Control Collaborative and any projects and deliverables related to this group, including but not limited to collaborative and working group meetings

● Manage scope of projects by redefining or refining work independently with increased autonomy

● Assist in creation of content/slides/materials for committees, facilitate the development of analyses in collaboration with the data & analytics team and guide their annual strategic planning process.

● Guide and coordinate the development of Epic tools, dashboards, or creation of reports for advancement of quality initiatives for IPCC as needed

● Collaborate with other clinical quality collaboratives and clinical groups in support of enterprise infection control

● Provide support to departmental initiatives as appropriate or assigned

● Establish contacts and strong working relationships with clinical quality collaborative and project leaders across the system

● Prepare for (logistics, coordination, content) and attend meetings as needed (early AM, evening or during regular working hours)

● Assist team leadership with the orientation of new team members

● Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

● Undergraduate (required); graduate degree (preferred) in health related field

● 5 years of experience with performing project management in health care, including managing multiple projects simultaneously is strongly preferred

● A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements

Skills/Abilities/Competencies

● Experience in health care setting desired

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate clinical collaborative engagement and relations across MGB enterprise

● Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects, as well as meet deadlines, with minimal guidance.

● Proficient level of subject matter knowledge within area of responsibility.

● Prepares for meetings with little input from manager necessary

● Resourceful and able to identify how to solve problems or drive things forward

● Understands when to escalate challenges to their manager for their support or intervention

● Increasing comfort in developing recommendations for review and endorsement

● Capable of synthesizing complex information and serving it up in a simplified and digestible format

● Ability to flex within a dynamic organization/policy environment.

● Ability to develop effective relationships with a broad array of people from different departments and organizations.

● Ability to effectively conduct meetings, both formal and informal

● Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites
