Job Description:

Microchip is seeking an Industrial Engineer to effectively manage large scale projects and improve operational performance at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon.

Our preferred candidate will demonstrate expertise in a broad range of Industrial Engineering and Project Management roles with experience in semiconductor manufacturing. They will be responsible for analyzing cost and Return on Investment for process changes and projects. They will research, develop, implement, and sustain systems and changes critical to the operation of the plant. They will partner with Facilities, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and various other organizations to provide technical support and coordination of projects and initiatives to improve cost and efficiency of operations consistent with the company's policies and guiding principles. They will be responsible for both assigned and self-identified projects that range from a tactical timeline of improving current daily operations to more complex strategic projects that affect the future of the site and cross-site/cross-organizational systems. They will maintain effective relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders throughout the organization.

Functions include:

  • Manage, Lead and Participate on multiple simultaneous projects including technology transfers, factory expansion, and line optimization

  • Manage project plans, documents, and stakeholders' communication.

  • Analyze economic and performance impacts of changes.

  • Create and manage long term goals.

  • Develops and sustains robust systems improvements both physically as well as through systems and reporting.

  • Must be able to plan, execute, and document study methods and results.

  • Extract, analyze, and summarize large amounts of data from a variety of systems both electronic and physical.

  • Use statistical methods to analyze and validate studies.

  • Actively engage in site operations to proactively understand site operations and improve fab cost and performance.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Systems Engineering
  • 5+ years Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or Program Management in a semiconductor environment or equivalent is desirable

Required Skills:

  • Track record of successful project management

  • Experience in defining problems, developing, countermeasures, sustaining improvements, and validating effectiveness

  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent skills in leading teams and meetings

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Candidate must be proficient in excel with the ability to create advanced formulas

Critical Physical Requirements:

Able to lift, push, pull 25 lbs; carry 25 lbs; sit 50%; stand 25%; walk 25%; must be able to perform activities that include stooping, reaching, handling, thinking, hearing, talking, seeing, work alone, work around others.
