Working within the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center (IIRC) and partnering with cross-functional Center teams such as the Therapeutic Products Program, Clinical Operations, Program in Immunology, Shared Resources, and Clinical Research Support, the IIRC Project Manager will drive successful execution of translational research partnerships across these programs. An experienced Project Manager with an understanding of clinical studies will drive project planning and delivery of a portfolio of high priority clinical discovery initiatives. The IIRC conducts innovative phase I trials and the project manager will work in a complex environment to manage external collaborations across multiple departments and workgroups to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met in an efficient manner. This position requires flexibility in a rapidly changing environment and strong communications skills with pharmaceutical company partners. The manager can expect to implement a portfolio of first-in-human trials, anticipated to grow over the next few years.
The successful candidate will execute the project management process for the successful transition of partnered technologies and applications, from early partnership to successful transition to the clinical implementation team in the IIRC.
Use project management tools and methodology for the overall transition of early stage therapeutics from laboratory to clinic.
In support of the Principal Investigators, manage the processes and activities needed to move projects with aggressive timelines through development phases to clinical implementation.
Collaborate with project management in the Therapeutic Products Program, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Finance teams. Responsible for planning and implementing projects using project management best practices.
Collaborate with project sponsors to ensure rapid and adequate response to sponsors.
The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of this plan, including coordinating efforts to facilitate cooperative group efforts across internal and external stakeholders and identification of critical path activities.
The Project Manager will select the appropriate project management tools to achieve strategic goals, hold team members accountable to commitments, and will lead project teams in evaluation of progress and accomplishments.
Lead established project teams, plan meeting agendas, and record meeting notes. Track and manage meeting action items and deliverables. Identify agenda items/issues for discussion.
Coordinate meeting logistics and distribution of meeting materials.
Partner with the IIRC Finance Team to track revenue into the IIRC by project and partner.
Distribute presented materials, as appropriate, to industry partners.
Maintain productive, positive relationships with industry partners in all communications.
Using project management best practices, create and track project timelines.
Identify critical path activities and coordinate with responsible parties to ensure deliverables are achieved
Identify/suggest areas where programs can be run more efficiently
Recommend how to prioritize competing activities and facilitate buy-off by both internal and external stakeholders
Track action items, deliverables, and key decisions with technical understanding
5 years of experience in complex project management. Clinical trials expertise is highly desired.
Highly effective team player and excellent communicator with an ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, scientists, and executives with diverse information needs and communications preferences.
Experience with managing a multiple project portfolio, including dashboard development and maintenance.
Experience in facilitating portfolio level governance teams and leveraging these structures to establish priorities, review project health, and escalate/resolve blocking issues.
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with Project Management methodologies and tools.
Advanced experience with key project artifacts, such as charters, project plans, risk matrices, dashboards, and roles and responsibilities documents (e.g., RACIs).
Advanced computer skills and deep experience with at least one Project Management software tool (e.g., Microsoft Project, SharePoint etc.).
Advanced meeting organizational, planning, and facilitation skills.
