ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
University Communications & Marketing (UCM) is responsible for producing and promoting university news, coordinating media relations, managing crisis communications, conceiving and implementing advertising and communications campaigns, producing university publications, and maintaining major university websites.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager II will report to Sr. Director of Marketing Operations and is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications project and campaign management including planning, scope definition, design, execution, timeline monitoring and delivery.
Additionally, the role will implement collaborative project management technology solutions across the multi-campus UCM team to enhance visibility and accountability for all projects, aligning communication and marketing efforts with university strategic objectives. This position will also be responsible for project status updates, measuring and reporting on effectiveness using ongoing research/feedback mechanisms, and data analytics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management: Lead the end-to-end management of university communications and marketing projects and campaigns, from inception to delivery. This includes defining project scope, assembling teams, managing resources, and ensuring timely completion of goals.
Operations: Develop operational policies, resource documents, and training documents - including project management and project intake best practices and standards for UCM and enterprise needs. Serve as support for university marketing and advertising consultant partnerships.
Technology Implementation: Implement and optimize shared project management solutions across the multi-campus UCM team to enhance visibility and accountability for all projects.
Strategic Alignment: Align communications and marketing efforts with university strategic goals, ensuring that projects contribute to overarching objectives.
Performance Evaluation: Regularly monitor project timelines and progress, providing status updates to stakeholders. Measure and report on project effectiveness using ongoing research, feedback mechanisms, and data analytics.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years of project management experience; or a Master's degree in a related field and 2 years of project management experience. Some positions may require project management certification.
LSB1310 Equivalency:
PREFERRED:
Any combination of education and experience is acceptable for this position. Two years of marketing/communications project management experience and/or marketing agency experience. Project Management Professional certification is preferred but not required.
