As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be involved in design and construction of the New Glenn Orbital Launch Site at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station as part of the Launch Facility Development team. This role is specific to being a Project Manager for the New Glenn launch vehicle Integration Facility, but you will support other launch pad systems as required. This role requires collaboration with internal and external design teams, mission operations, launch vehicle designers, and our construction teams to manage and coordinate design and construction of the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with Architect of Record and Blue engineers as needed for construction execution, design review, design or intent change integration.

  • Coordinate with General Contractor counterpart to maintain all schedule milestones regarding procurement, construction and installations

  • Manage all RFIs for the system

  • Manage and approve submittals for the system

  • Review cost estimates and schedules and elevate variances from the baseline

  • Understand system requirements and manage changes through Engineering Change Reviews and Decision Boards

  • Identify and document cost, schedule, and technical risks and opportunities

  • Coordinate with General Contractor during procurement process, review bids and make recommendations for award

  • Review system non-conformances and coordinate dispositions or rework while communicating cost and schedule impacts

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering, Business or Construction Management or related fields

  • 5+ years of relevant project/program management experience managing cost, schedule, and requirements

  • Candidate must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to physically climb multiple flights stairs, withstand prolonged standing, and work in adverse weather conditions

  • Exceptional multitasker with a passion for organization and attention to detail

  • A motivated self-starter with a great attitude

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Intermediate

  • Candidate must be able to successfully apply for badging at a government installation

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience with Newforma Project Center

  • Experience with project planning and controls

  • Experience with P6 Primavera scheduling tool

  • Candidates should be able to work independently without significant oversight and direction

  • This position requires demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and effective decision-making

Typical systems include high pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities * Design launch pad piping systems supporting rocket propellants and pneumatics * Perform fluid and structural analysis of new or modified designs * Select components and collaborate on system safety and process hazards analysis * Creation of models and drawings of designs * Perform system and component level analyses and document results * Review specifications and statements of work * Coordinate with suppliers on costs, schedule, and technical design requirements * Assist with oversight of fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified systems at the Blue Origin Orbital Launch Site. * Provide input on cost, schedule and technical requirements to team members * Occasional travel may be necessary Qualifications * Four year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar discipline) * Understanding of fundamental principles used in design and structural analysis of piping/tubing systems * Understanding of fundamental principles of internal fluid flow analysis used in sizing piping/tubing systems and components * Experience with solid modelling or plant modelling and creation of engineering drawings * Knowledge of standard components, installation and fabrication methods of piping and/or tubing systems (pipe/tube stock, fittings, connections, vessels, valves, regulators, pumps, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding, etc) * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired * Advanced Engineering degree or relevant hand-on experience * Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and in-field oversight of construction, testing and/or operations of piping systems * Experience using analysis tools specific to piping (CAEPipe, Bentley AutoPipe, CEASAR,…etc) * Knowledge of oxidizer system design and safe operating practices * Experience with creation of design lifecycle documentation, and configuration control * Knowledge of hydrocarbon and hydrogen rocket fuel systems and safe operating practices * Knowledge of design and safe operations of fuel vent and flare destruction systems * Knowledge of hydraulics systems, components, and operations * Knowledge and experience in the design and operation of rocket launch acoustic suppression water systems * Knowledge of the design of ground based environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS) * Experience with Autocad or Autocad P&ID * Experience with steady-state and transient fluid flow analysis * Experience with structural hand calculations and finite-element analysis software tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, etc.) * Knowledge of precision cleaning processes / levels and passivation of stainless steel Blue Origin offers a phenomenal work environment and awesome culture with competitive compensation, benefits, 401K, and relocation.
