Position Overview

As a Project Manager, you will be working in a collaborative effort between the Project Team consisting of the Field Managers, Project Teams, Construction Crews and external Customers demonstrating expertise in construction skills and general industry knowledge. While facilitating project completion you will be recognizing and providing a safe work site with acceptable quality and efficiency in planning, coordinating, implementing, executing, and control of resources. You will also be promoting new business while enforcing the company's high standards and reputation of being a leader in the industry.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain client relationships with the telecommunications industry utilizing expertise in the construction management to develop strategies to build, manage, and deploy projects

  • Cultivate and maintain market customer relationships via marketing calls, client visits, company presentations and networking at client-related events

  • Represent Vertical Limit at market specific and national trade show events, with the goal of increasing market awareness for the company

  • Meet and exceed company safety, financial, and production goals and objectives while developing cross functional relationships within the organization

  • Attend bid walks, prepare and submit proposals/bids

  • Read, comprehend and interpret site plans, construction drawings and scopes of work

  • Work with Estimating Department to ensure accurate bid data

  • Create materials list based on plans/scope of work, order and compile materials for crew in advance of deployment

  • Coordinate key dates for phases of project

  • Manage expenses and production to achieve maximum profitability

  • Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations and any deviation in the direction of the project

  • Ensure assigned projects meets design criteria, proper site safety & quality standards, work progresses according to schedule, and perform final inspection

  • Update customers on progress of projects in accordance with plans and specifications

  • Identify all change order items and communicate same to customer

  • Lead teams of CMs and Admin. along with additional staff; assist in hiring, terminations, performance reviews, training, rewards and recognition, and scheduling;

  • Actively participate in all company-wide meetings, training, and development initiatives

  • Remain informed of new technology and changes in building codes, construction practices, and safety practices

Requirements

  • Self-starter & team player who pays strict attention to detail and organization effectively interfacing with all levels of management, staff, and customers

  • Proven experience project managing multiple large-scale projects with diverse customer base

  • Strong computer skills; ability to utilize Microsoft Office product knowledge (i.e. Outlook, Word, etc.) used to support the data and reporting needs of a project management system

  • Must have judgment to handle sensitive, confidential information

  • Possess a balance of hard skills (technical fluency, financial mastery) and soft skills (relationship building)

  • Competitive, entrepreneurial spirit and driven to succeed with the ability to work in a non-standard office setting in the field showing tireless energy, tenacity and positivity

  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license that represents a history of safe & competent driving, with the ability to approximately travel 50%

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering or equivalent in a related field required

  • Preferred 7+ years in the wireless telecommunications industry with 5 years of demonstrating a leadership role and budget accountability

While facilitating project completion you will be setting the direction of safety, quality, and profitability to complete cellular communication projects. A successful CM will involve themselves with the oversight of project staff & subcontractors working directly with the Project Manager to manage/evaluate affected communication networks associated with the Project Teams. This is a strategic position at Vertical Limit, as you are on the front line, playing an integral role in Vertical Limit's strategic direction, development, and future growth. Essential Job Functions * Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, and inspections * Assist in managing expenses and production to achieve maximum profitability through reports and various spread sheets * Oversee all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, and quality abiding by the company's policies, industry regulation/standard(s) (OSHA) and customer specifics * Act as a liaison between Field Services, Sub Contractors, and Vertical Limits Logistics Team on material deliveries * Inspect job sites daily to ensure construction is performed in accordance with plans and specifications * Establish daily requirements or goals for not only Vertical Limit internal crews, but sub-contractors by utilizing detailed scopes of work and work instructions * Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, and any deviation in the direction of the project * Inspect work daily ensuring it meets design criteria & quality standards, work progresses according to schedule, and perform final inspection * Assisting in the bottom line P&L, review P&L reports and monitor expenses to ensure profitability * Serve as an information resource by coordinating customer's requirements, participating in meetings, resolving disputes, provide ongoing feedback, and coordinate project lists and close-outs. * Submit daily updates on all projects to the Project Services Team * Actively participate in all company-wide training and development initiatives, also work with and mentor Field Service Teams * Remain informed of new technology and changes in construction practices, customer specifications, and safety practices * Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Requirements Requirements * Strong computer skills; ability to utilize Microsoft Office product knowledge (i.e. Outlook, Word, etc.) used to support the data and reporting needs of a project management system * Self-starter & team player who pays strict attention to detail and organization effectively interfacing with all levels of management, staff, and customers (conference calls, bid walks, etc.) * Demonstrate ability to plan project work and see the "big picture" * Identifying priorities, assist in resolving business problems, and managing conflict situations * Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other project team members on either large, or several smaller projects/scopes to plan, execute and problem solve * Exhibit strong time management and organization skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with proven ability to work through ambiguity to deliver results * Working knowledge of field construction: systems, practices, safety & procedures * Possess and maintain a valid driver's license that represents a history of safe & competent driving, with the ability to approximately 60% * Be results-driven and motivated by meeting and beating aggressive goals Education/Experience * BS degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus * 5+ years of Telecommunications experience preferred * Must possess & maintain Level 4 Certifications with PTID for Nokia Integration & Installation and Nokia Commissioning & Integration Certifications * CB401A Certifications preferred * Aviat MW Certifications preferred * Possess the ability to work in a standard office setting, but also have the ability to work outside and withstand varied inclement weather conditions showing tireless energy, tenacity and positivity that are trademarks of successful Construction Manager * Be results-driven and motivated by meeting and beating aggressive goals Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
