The Project Manager I manages small projects and portions of mid-size projects through project close-out. This position leads teams of people to ensure that project objectives remain consistent with the overall business strategy, are achieved on schedule and within budget, while satisfying agreed upon requirements and specifications within the scope of the project.
Responsible for the appropriateness, quality, and timeliness of all aspects of the project. S/he manages the production of project estimates, develops project plan and schedule, establishes measures and milestones, and tracks ongoing progress, while proactively managing risks, issues, scope, and changes through the project life-cycle. Projects are primarily related to business operations with minimal technical implications.
Primary Responsibility Primary point-of-contact for business, technology and vendors on a project and responsible for ensuring successful completion of project deliverables and timelines. Works through conflicting issues, roadblocks, and dependencies, proactively manage risks, changes, and communication with project stakeholders, ensuring project documentation is complete. Escalates when appropriate.
Creates and maintains project budgets, project deliverables, project plan, and risk mitigation plan. Communicates plans, status, and issues within the team and to the Executive Sponsor. Utilizes established project management methodology.
Build, develop, and grow any relationships vital to the success of the project. Conducts project post analysis and creates lessons learned document and action plan. Incorporates lessons learned into future projects.
Coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members and influences them to take positive action and accountability for assigned work. Knowledge and Skills Leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills verbal, written, listening, and facilitating.
Ability to build strong relationships. High energy and able to project enthusiasm. Ability to uncover business requirements and expectations and articulate those to others.
Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial processes. Experience with project plans, risk mitigation plans, communication plans, and business readiness plans. Strong sense of ownership with the ability to take control of difficult situations.
Results driven change agent with influencing skills. Ability to manage a significant volume of work and activities. Flexibility that allows effective teamwork with people at all levels.
Experience Masters Degree Preferred; 3 years of professional experience. Experience leading and directing project tasks as a project lead or subject-matter-expert.
