We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Project Manager on our Improving Health Outcome team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 1 day a week in the office. As a Project Manager, you will primarily manage projects designed to scale IHO's education and awards portfolio, including Target:

BP, and support the development of new solutions for health care professionals in training and in practice. Responsible for the successful initiation, planning, day to day management, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of each project. Collaborate and coordinate across IHO, with other AMA units, internal and external strategic partners and vendors to ensure the successful development and implementation of IHO projects and initiatives.

Ensure project outcomes align and enable achievement of business goals; actively seek out user feedback with internal and external stakeholder groups and identify opportunities to improve the overall impact of IHO initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Management Manage multiple medium complexity projects or initiatives with technical competency while simultaneously creating and maintaining project plans, updating status reports, and tracking and resolving issues Ensure requests are managed and projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality standards Actively manage the day-to-day project activities, including the project plans, timelines, deliverables and key performance measures (KPIs), tracking of contributions to IHO goals Apply project management principles to manage the development of events, assets, tools or products Determine the need for project support and resources including managing any relevant vendors or collaboration partners Define project scopes in conjunction with stakeholders and AMA leadership, and obtain approval prior to initiating project plans Identify, prioritize and address gaps, as needed; identify and manage project risks, resolve issues through appropriate solutions and bring to leadership for their awareness and input Create and maintain documentation including project charters, use cases, meeting summaries, collaborator deliverables acceptance, and project change orders Consistently utilize and contribute to improvement processes, templates and tools Relationship Management Develop and maintain internal and external relationships to advance IHO initiatives; act as liaison and project lead to the education program team, other IHO teams and other units Identify opportunities for collaboration with other key internal and external stakeholders Work in collaboration with other AMA departments (The Education Center, Medical Education, Strategic Initiatives, General Counsel etc.) to ensure content, products and services are integrated and compliant with AMA standards and policies, and ensure AMA's reputation and interests are adequately protected Identify intersections across projects and facilitate shared definition and understanding of plan, accountabilities and timelines among internal and external stakeholders Evaluate stakeholder satisfaction through proactive communication and formal follow-up Create and maintain a diverse and inclusive project team environment through intentional planning, communication, and actions May include other responsibilities as assigned REQUIREMENTS: BS or BA degree required, discipline in business, public health, health education or health management, or related field preferred; Minimum 5 years' professional experience in project management, planning and execution or equivalent skills.

Project management professional certification preferred. Ability to communicate and express concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders required Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas in writing, proven ability to produce clear written reports, and deliver effective presentations; experience presenting in a large group setting preferred Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and execute multiple projects, to achieve project deliverables with a strong track record of high quality and on time completion; able to handle ambiguity and adapt effectively to changing circumstances Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting, as well as independently; polished interpersonal, consensus-building and negotiation skills; experience establishing and maintaining matrixed relationships with leaders and colleagues Experience in vendor management and contracting, including negotiating and evaluating Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and effort to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook) and experience with project tracking software (e.g. Microsoft Project) required The American Medical Association is located at 330 N.
